Barzal, Lee, 2 firsts a second and a conditional 6 for OEL and Rinaldo - mdw7413
i would have to think barzel is untouchable at this point with not having JT locked up. even if jt was locked up i'd say no way |

No way you trade Barzal. |

no way you trade Lee. I most definitely would trade Bailey (his value will never be higher) Nelson, Ho Sang
btw - snow going to count bailey coming back from IR as a trade.
I think isles win tonight. I hope tavares comes in strong considering a rookie li dman name mcavoy totally abused him last game.
4-2 win from isles. Tired Bs will still probably coming out harder than isles. |

Yeah, no doubt about it. But if they're serious about getting Ekman-Larsson and do not have photos of Chayka partaking in some illegal/immoral activity...they're going to have to give up something they don't want to. Couple of pending free agents and/or guys we don't want isn't going to do it. - eichiefs9
I'm sure it would take a Lee to be included in the deal. Bailey can walk so they would not have interest. |

It took them so long to get JT a a couple of wingers that I don't know if I would trade Lee. They don't have anybody else with that size who goes to the dirty areas like that. I mean at the end of the day I probably would if OEL agreed to an extension but I think losing Lee would be a huge loss - Vukota
He's not getting that for oel depending on what he means by high end of course. Think about it what team is giving that up? Nobody. He can want whatever he wants doesn't mean he'll get it. If throw Nelson, Aho or Pulock, 2 firsts at him. If he doesn't take that then you move on. I highly doubt he gets much more than that from anyone. |

OEL would be great, but Garth has to look at other options. Isles have the assets to get a quality dman. Does not have to be a star. |

Yeah I don't disagree. I'm not looking to trade him, but it's hard to argue against it, given what OEL brings. Maybe it's an offseason deal post-7/1 where we can ask to speak to OEL's camp about an extension first. Who knows. Just an idea. We obviously aren't trading Tavares or Barzal. We have no defenseman we can realistically part with. Maybe Eberle instead of Lee gets it done? I have no idea. |

Agreed. They need a D-man who can confidently breakout of his own end without having to resort to blindly ripping it around the boards and someone who understands defensive zone responsibility. I'm sure OEL checks those but betting everything for a guy who may or may not hang around is not the best move.
I would hope he's looking into everything (doubt it!) but giving up your #1 LW, #3 C/W, prospect and a 1st is not what they need to be doing.
Chiefs is correct in saying no offer to ARZ should start with Nelson/Ho-Sang and a pick. |

Bailey is a pending UFA coming off a career year and will be due a huge raise. He has no value to the Coyotes unless he's signed long-term. |

I'd be thrilled with Trouba type in the offseason. Hopefully Toews is ready next year. I'd like to get a quality dman for this year though. |

Garth needs to look at the couple of teams that are out of it already and see which dmen are available. OEL seems like a very long shot. |

Marc-Andre Bergeron retire yet? He's got the size and skills Snow loves. Tiny and a "great" shot that never hit the net. |

Problem is those teams are looking for a huge return. I dont know what Snow will do. Personally I still believe Snow does not do much and we get that borderline ahl forward for a 3rd rounder or something |

I'm really curious what happens with Trouba in the offseason. Jets have plenty of cap space and plenty of money coming off the books this year. Trouba, Hellebuyck, and Morrissey are the only really important guys that need to be re-signed. |

Unless some of the teams outside of the Yotes have an OEL, they can wish for a huge return all they want. The whole idea of trading Hamonic was getting a #1 in the deep 2018 draft to be able to move a #1 to help the team. Garth needs to figure out a way to get defensive help without giving up the farm. |

Correct. The Isles have a rough time with Boston because the Bruins out muscle the weaker isles. - brodydog29
No it’s simply that the Bruins play a tight defensive game and pray on turnovers and mistakes from their opponents and capitalize on them. As Dan pointed out the Bruins are licking their lips with the Isles on the schedule tonight. |

Unless Trouba changed his mind about playing in the states, I would think he needs to be moved this offseason? I just hate always having to wait for the offseason for Garth to make any sort of meaningful move. |

So hear me out on this one:
Let's be real, Nelson and/or Ho Sang aren't getting us a top defenseman on their own. Anders Lee is 27 years old and will be 29 when he is due for another contract. He's currently making (cap-hit-wise) $3.75M and, if he has another big goal-scoring season next year, is going to be due for a massive raise at nearly 30 years old. I love Lee, but it's real hard to convince me that it wouldn't be more valuable having a high-end defenseman like Ekman-Larsson.
Chayka's ask is obviously not what he realistically expects to get (aim high yada yada yada), so I wonder if they'd take something like Lee, Nelson, a 1st and a conditional (on re-signing or playoff success) 2nd rounder. No idea if that works or not. I'd probably include Aho in that deal in place of Nelson, if that's what they wanted.
Probably won't be a popular idea, but if we are realistically considering landing Ekman-Larsson...it's not gonna happen by trading guys that don't have a ton of value to us. - eichiefs9
Hear me out, not no but phucking hell no, |
