He was an incredible player. I remember during his rookie season I was at the game where he returned to the lineup after a knee injury. It was against Chicago if I remember correctly. He came out of the tunnel for warmups and the cheer was loud as can be just for that. During the game there was a sequence where he got knocked down in the offensive zone by minimal cheap shot. He got up on his skates and made a bee line for the player, and the entire arena stood up because they knew what was going to happen. Just an unreal player and even more amazing to watch close up in person than on TV.

Game 6 against the Lightning in 96. During the last few minutes he was a one man wrecking crew! It was a thing of beauty.

In his prime, when he took it to that next level, he could take over a game in a way that I only ever saw Orr, Gretzky and Lemieux do. He was simply unstoppable

favorite memories of 88:

My first live flyers game. Opener vs Montreal in 95. He was dominant in a 7 1 win.

Saw him play the sharks in sa Jose and we went down to the glass for warmups. He was just on the other side with leclair and I could hear them joking around. I got a real sense of his size, speed and skill being that close. He scored in a 3 1 win.

In the 97 ecf vs the rags. Game 4 at msg. Late in the game. Zubrus poles the puck to Eric whose all alone vs richter. I'm thinking deke.. lindros pulls his stick back as high as I'd ever seen him for a slap/snap shot and blows it by richter. Amazing. Thought that shot would go through the net.

Congrats big e. I can't wait for tonight!

tbh i was born just a couple years after Lindros became a Flyer and didn't really start following hockey until i was 15 or 16. Never got to see him play live or on TV unfortunately.
