makes $400 for those 2 nights

You're listing jobs that require you to already have assets and capital.

Have to have a car, insurance, etc. Same with ticket flipping.

People come out of college with no job opportunities and they're faced with crippling debt. There are now two options: do what you said, get a $10 an hour job, remain in debt in perpetuity, or double down and go to grad school and increase your debt load.

We're not talking about delivering pizza money, we're talking tens of thousands of dollars plus interest. It's a different world.

The average School loan payment I think I read is close to $1,000 a month.
Average apartment is $900 a month
Car Payment say another $200 a month

$10 per hour even at 50 hours a week. $500 X 70% is 350 X 52 week /12 montsh is roughly 1500 a month/

Expenses 2100 a month
Income 1500 a month

- ImThatGuy

yup, sometimes you need to work 80 hour weeks while time is tough

fact of life

instead they live with mommy and daddy while they are 30 and still suck on mommy's t!t

i actually said 1st rounder, b prospect and conditional pick.

I only brought up the quote to point out that when both sides meet in the middle this deal probably wont include guys like bellows or whatever

- Sabresfan-365

Sure..
but Hanzal PROBABLY shouldn’t have gotten a 1st
Erat PROBABLY shouldn’t have gotten Forsberg
Goose PROBABLY shouldn’t have gotten a 1st

GMs overpay ALL THE TIME
I’m not saying that will happen for sure

But it’s logical to think the price on Kane went up bc the demand is high

So I’m just being hopeful here

maybe you missed where I tell people younger, to start a business or join the service instead of getting a degree

if you go after a degree, plan on many 80 hour work weeks til you catch up

plain and simple

Bogosian was terrible from day 1, sorry not sorry. He wasn't the edge we needed, nobody needs bogosian on their team, not when he gives you 35 games and an awful cap hit.

Johnson is probably just as bad defensively, why on earth would we pursue these guys? Let's start looking for high iq puck movers and defensively competent players.

- Sabresfan-365

Johnson's an unrestricted free agent this summer...you want to get rid of bogo's contract, don't you?

Honestly, I think it'll be a b prospect and a first. I know, as a pens fan, no one would cry if the pens gave up a first and a player like Simon.
- cranktheradio

Sounds like the player/prospect is of more importance to Botts in the return

So I guess we will see

There’s still an option of us re-signing him as well, so who knows?

I agree but there's a key difference between hope and expectations. If he brought back a 1st and a b prospect would you consider that a good return?

Bogo doesn't get you johnson though. That's the same team that had to take clarkson just to get rid of horton, probably not happening here.

The moment bogo becomes healthy again they need to staple his ass to the press box and buy him out the second the window for it is open.

Absolutely not
That would be the “expected” return

“Good” would be if we got better than that

The reason I think we can do better...
is bc demand is obviously HIGH
(at least right now)

they're not mutually exclusive. you can get your expected return and have it be good. Yours is a case of expectation then not hope. you expect botts to get a slam dunk on account of kane supposedly being the best available rental.

I used those two as the primaries....as far as I know, Johnson doesn't have a no-trade clause...

and...

you really hate bogo

I still think resigning him would be the best option if it's there.

yes, i hate really bad hockey players. Combine that with old school mentality and outdated form of defensive play...woof.

Bogo is a microcosm of everything wrong with the sabres.

Maybe not a slam dunk...
but yeah,

Based on
Kane being the best available
And
Demand being high
And
GMs often overpaying

I do believe we can/will get better than a “B” prospect & a 1st

If that’s all we get,
I will be disappointed
Not shocked, not calling for Botts head, just bummed we didn’t do better

Bc right now,
It does seem like things are lining up for us to get a very good return

I think botts is just setting expectations too high here, you'd think he would have learned from the previous GM.

Not saying he can't or won't get it, but now after the ask if he doesn't get that it will look like failure

2. there are 10 dollar an hour jobs out there all the time, people with degrees don't take them

- homiedclown

Wow.

not to mention minimum wage is 10.20.

Yeah but i'm gonna take that 20 cents less to work under the table

honestly, you should stop.

to be fair if people take key career advice from a hockey forum they've got bigger underlying issues
