I think they were a first round exit with Crawford . I think play Forsberg and see what you got . They need to be sellers and everyone should available to be discussed for trading purposes

If Danault is Bowman's worst trade ever I can live with that. The guy has 7 goals and 13 assists playing on Montreal's 1st or 2nd line. Big deal. He is an RFA after this year. We will see what the Canadians really think of him when he re-signs for 3rd line center money.
- -Doh-[/quo

Understood the trade on the day it was made. Bowman was arrogant enough to see another Cup run and Danault didn't seem a part of that.

Problems were
1.Hawks were weak down the middle and Danault filled the 3C Spot and everyone knew it.
2. Q got his 'Knickers in a Knot' and refused to play Weiss or Fliesch

Result-
Rd1 Exit
Bye Bye Danault and the Bye Bye the Second this year.

Start of the Q - SB Rift

Bad Trade

MCD and company really understand Chicago sports fans which is why they kept it quiet. Now that this news is out there, a whole bunch of fans will just write this year off...I can hear it now, the whole cubs mantra of "wait until next year..."

They probably didn't want the news out there for fear of lost revenue due to fans bailing, but they probably had no choice at this point with the rumors running rampant.

Technically, any injury report can be a HIPPA violation unless cleared through the player.

Someone else mentioned it in the last blog, but HIPAA is a federal privacy law that may prevent the Hawks organization to disclose health information without Crawford's consent. Not sure if HIPAA is the reason for the tight seal on 1901 W. Madison but it could very well be.

This is exactly why.

He is not out there to score a ton of points. He's a great skater who wins draws, plays PK, matches up against top opposition lines and can chip in some offense playing pretty much anywhere in the lineup. Groomed him in the AHL for two years and given (and a 2nd rounder) away for Bergevin's scraps
- EnzoD

Sounds like Toews....Danault will get $10.5 million per season for his next deal.

so I have been thinking about some real questions.

1) why bring Jurco and Gus up to sit them. They both need mins. Plus Gus adds one more salary. should have brought up Tyler sikura so he can make some money.

I still think Jurco and Gus both have a shot to make the 18/19 team. not great but a shot.

so here are some lines I think could work: need AA and DUKE to get going and Kane seems to be able to do that. SCH is best at C and he gets a net front guy and a shooter. Sharp is not ideal on the 4th, but less minutes and he is better then bouma every day.

Murph has been our best RD defender move him to 1, plus he will get more shots on goal. OST is a LD and get him on his LS and is probably the fastest D we have to help Seabs get back. If we are going to get on a real role and real run you need Kemp shot speed and size in the lineup and making a def. Put him with Rutta they have played together a ton. Forsling has slipped, looks slow, is not getting shots on net.

I believe he sees doctors in Chicago and you don’t have to be a US citizen.

Subtract hartman and murphy
- Scott1977

I personally would retain Murphy. He has shown steady improvement as the season has progressed and has been more reliable as a result. Plus, he is cost controlled for many seasons. IMHO, Murphy should be part of a new nucleus (core?) to build around.

Murphy is going to settle in as a third pair #5 depth chart. Because of his skating more than anything else. His game I think can become better but never all that good. He lends toughness which I like from one on each pair ideally.
- jhawk59

I think Murphy has a slightly higher ceiling. Don't see him as a top pairing defender but maybe a #3 like Hjalmarsson. Murphy isn't fleet of foot and doesn't bring a ton of offense but neither did Hammer.

Why are we wasting time taking about who the Hawks should pick us to replace Crawford. The answer is crystal clear.

AA is a center that a cup contending team would be interesting in. So what contending team would be the best fit and what return could the hawks get?

I just spoke with Scotty Bowman and he said he was "guessing," not sharing inside info. "I think he got a concussion," he said. "I have no confirmation that it is."

this was posted about 7:45 CST....Mr Bowman has "no comfirmation" and is "just guessing." An insider who's son is GM doesn't know what's going on....ahh huh!!

The article and this tweet are different...he sure doesn't know what's going on so lets just make things more confusing.

Actually Vertigo is one of the symptoms of post-concussion syndrome.

I’m going with what Bowman originally said before he got reigned in lol. Concussion with Vertigo symptoms make perfect sense.

I totally understand the privacy issue and how it relates to a player/individual However the way this has been handled by the team is a complete failure that has turned into a soap opera. What a Cluster phuck

And just how should they handle it?? Violate his privacy - just to appease the fan base - and invite legal action from Corey??

The laws on this are clear - just because you and other fans don't like it - and think you are entitled to be told - does not make you right.

He has a medical condition - have you ever heard of doctor/patient confidentiality??

HR departments around the country take great care to protect employees rights in this manner - why should NHL players be any different.

The people on this site need to get over this. In cases like this, the team owes you NOTHING!!!!!!

Yeah I wonder what Crawford thinks, especially if he didn’t want any of this medical information on him out in public.
