That Seabrook contract is something else... - Aaron_85
With the cap going up next year, some GM (EDM) will be getting a stiffy over Seabs. Now, the question is, will Seabs waive to go there. |

Just one of the handful of reasons Bowman should be canned this summer. This is another...
Quote ColbyBoy "The team has acquired forwards Dale Weise and Tomas Fleischmann from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Phillip Danault and a second-round draft pick in 2018." - EnzoD
On this trade evaluation I place some unknown amount of it's lack to help us more upon the relationship between Bowman and Q than the playets themselves
Weise had stated that he never got comfortable under Q. I believe we could have received something better from Weise after his one glorious playoff performance season in Montreal. It is difficult to pinpoint the blame, however, when there is attitude problems - or whatever the issue between the coach and GM.
Late add; really regret that we lost Danault and hope he returns very soon from possible minority concussion. |

What incentive would he have to go anywhere. How good is the team and whom he plays/pairs with is certainly important but this is ONLY if he is willing to go to that team. You would surmise only Vancouver or Edmonton, eh, being from Vancouver area |

Over half the team is under 25 and you want to start a rebuild now? Okay. |

So Justin or to whomever on this panel, seeing that Crawford more than likely not coming back any time soon what direction do the hawks take. Go for the playoffs and put crow on LTRI and see what trades could happen or stay on the path of getting younger and faster for the future hard to say what influence is coming from above bowman. To me and my personal opinion hawks should look to next year and beyond and just chalk this year up as a lost season. See what players can the hawks trade and what do the hawks want in return looking for hockey trades value for value. Who are those players:
AA
wiggles
bouma
Hartman
franson
sharp
murphy
kempney
or do entertain shopping kieth to a contender for example Toronto or is that offseason move along with seabrook towes sadd and kane at some point we the fans and hawks management there is a rebuild is coming and some of the core is going not all but some. Also in a trade the hawks need to get goaltending depth in there system. So what trades would you make and for what? - Scott1977
Murphy has been the best defender on the team for most of the year. Probably cant trade him... |

The rebuild is on the fly. One good draft and one good trade could make a huge difference. The likelihood of either is not real good, but not out of the realm of happening.
In the draft lottery they need to get Brady Tczchuk. Then they need to trade someone from this threesome for a power forward type: DeBrincat, Schmatz, Sinkula. You must have more toughness and willingness to play a physical checking game in the playoffs. This is how it could happen. Would take more than a lucky rabbit's tail to happen. Plus Rutta and Forsling need to be consistent. |

I hope Crow gets healthy. Anyone who has had vertigo knows what a nightmare that can be, and how frustrating it can be.
Even if Crow comes back the Hawks chances of making the playoffs are iffy. Bowman will not panic. Nor will the possibility of missing the playoffs this year force him to overpay for a so so goalie.
He will give Crow a little time to be evaluated. If it is determined that he is done for the year Bowman has two options.
a) Play Forsberg like a #1 goalie for the rest of the year with Glass as the backup.
b) Trade for a rental (UFA) or possible rental that you could get draft picks for if he signs elsewhere at a decent price (RFA). If it is a pure rental the price would need to be dirt cheap. He would pay a little more for an RFA.
If it is determined that Crow is done for the year he would go on LTIR. If that happens Bowman could use that space, not for a rental, but for a player that could be part of their plans for a few years (like DuClair) as he continues to build the team. If he performs well the Hawks can sign him. If not they let him go.
Missing the playoffs and testing Forsberg and the other youngsters could be an ok thing. The last two months would be testing the players and Q.

If you are looking to the future, you cannot include some of the younger names. That would be an Oiler type of thing to do and you see where it has got them. - 67hawks

Murphy is going to settle in as a third pair #5 depth chart. Because of his skating more than anything else. His game I think can become better but never all that good. He lends toughness which I like from one on each pair ideally. |

We are pretty much already in the rebuild on the fly.Hammer traded for younger, cheaper Murphy. Panarin for Saad for cost certianty. Forsling, Rutta, Kempny, Schamltz, Cat, Hartman, Hino, Hayden, etc. All newer, cheaper guys. We don't even know how Sikura plays yet, I don't think he needs to be a trade candidate. |

Wishful thinking.
But his value will never be higher than the present time NOW. If Bowman knows he is going to get a big center one way or another (draft or another trade) then loosing AA salary and slower skating is a plus move. |

I am going under assumption that Sikura turns out to be a point producing player with obvious skill. I see smallish size guys in DeBrincat, Schmaltz, Sikura. I would think there is a way to convert one of them for a physical center who can skate and has second line offensive ability. That is my hope. |

Anisimov slots in at 3C if Schmaltz fulfills his potential and ideal positioning at 2C. $4.5mil for an aging and injury prone 3C is a lot on the Hawks' tight budget....

If Danault is Bowman's worst trade ever I can live with that. The guy has 7 goals and 13 assists playing on Montreal's 1st or 2nd line. Big deal. He is an RFA after this year. We will see what the Canadians really think of him when he re-signs for 3rd line center money.

He is going somewhere i think. Compliance buy out after new collective bargaining agreement.
Team that could surprise. They have had up and down season. But if Murray on defense returns I think they COULD come on. There is a lot of young talent there, however, and young talent does not equate usually with sound defensive effort. The best center is a 19 yr old kid. So they may be a team to watch out for much more after this season. |

He is not out there to score a ton of points. He's a great skater who wins draws, plays PK, matches up against top opposition lines and can chip in some offense playing pretty much anywhere in the lineup. Groomed him in the AHL for two years and given (and a 2nd rounder) away for Bergevin's scraps |

The leddy trade is his worst trade ever and then timmion dault sharp hammer who should've been traded to a contender slap in his face in my opinion panrin trade right not looking good either.
