I agree.
(FYI - This is all for fun OK, so don't go crazy folks).
LTIR Crawford. Free up cap space
Make a trade for some top forwards and or D.
Bring back Hossa and Crow for Round 1 / Game 1 of the playoffs (if they make it and if they could play).
NHL up in arms.
Hawks win Cup
NHL up in arms part II
NHL penalizes Hawks severely
Hawks Brass says HA HA TO NHL
Hawks demo the team and rebuild.
JL may never have to work again with all of the hits his blog would get. - stan-ley-cups
haha. What a scene that would be.
I'll take it... for the Cup, not the blog hits.

Given the current state of the team what type of trade would you expect Stan to make? - DarthKane
None, just gives him the cover to do what he should do anyway. |

Hawks don't have one in 2018. Went to the Habs with Danault. - Rota's Rooter
That has to be the worst trade in StanBo's career. |

I have no idea as long as Joel is shuffling the deck every game, win or lose . Might as well give it a couple weeks after the break .If it's still up and down with Q Still here , might as well sell off Wingles Bomma Glass Sharp Franson , may get some late picks . Bring up the kids, let them play . And go into a deep dive .. - oldduffman
Are you okay Duff? |

Since they spent an asset (Tyler Motte) to acquire him, I'd install Forsberg as the #1 with Glass in the bullpen on back to back nights. Forsberg hasn't played poorly, the team just gives him no goal support. He's won an AHL championship. Develop him - what if Cro has to retire because of his health problems? - RickJ
i agree trading for a stop gap #1 is a waste...play him...they aint going anywhere this year...

this whole thing with craw is crossed over into twilght zone...
the organ-i-za-tion is quite capable of coming up with a statement that gives some general clarity to his status while protecting trade secrets and the players privacy...
the more they stonewall with BS half answers the more people are dig and rumorize... |

Put Crawford on LTIR.
Go with Forsberg. Let him play, make mistakes, and get better from them.
Go out and use any cap space available to bring forward scoring depth and possibly a defenseman.
If they don't see Kempny in their future plans, trade him now and get some return for him. |

Exactly. I can understand not disclosing an injury so your opponent does not know your weakness but this smells of hiding something from the fans.
And that ain't right. |

Someone else mentioned it in the last blog, but HIPAA is a federal privacy law that may prevent the Hawks organization to disclose health information without Crawford's consent. Not sure if HIPAA is the reason for the tight seal on 1901 W. Madison but it could very well be. |

Hoping that Crawford is okay... I hope this isn't the end of his career, so hoping for the best.
I think the Hawks kept it under wrap as long as they did because they wanted to see how serious it was and let's be honest, they didn't want to lose revenue. Anyone who doesn't think that had some factor going into that is clearly forgetting that the Hawks are a business... and seeing that they probably won't be making the playoffs, selling out the United Center is a huge deal.
I hope the Hawks don't do anything trying to make the playoffs this year that impacts them in the future. Let's just call it what it is... |

Well, they are probably going golfing
The downside for the "trade-them-all" camp is that the Hawks don't seem to have much in the way of tradable assets.
Defensively, most of the team's depth is on their last or second to last year of team control. Forsling and Gustafsson are RFAs. Offensively, the forward group is in the same boat outside of DeBrincat. |

All we needed to hear was, "upper body, off ice injury." Or "upper body in game". Something. This was weird and sneakyish. That's why it got weird. I don't think it's weird now.
Do you? |

Technically, any injury report can be a HIPPA violation unless cleared through the player. |

One reason not to LTIR is that it would (I think) get the NHL involved in the situation with independent medical exams etc. If this is anything that would impact Crow's career long-term, revenue as someone already mentioned, and/or traceability, you wouldn't want that out there. |
