look at the last 10 or 12 games of the season. 5 and 5 or 6 and 6 would be pretty good, so unless the Hawks go on a 15-5 tear in the next 20, this show is over. Crow or no Crow its over. Winning 20 out of 25 with Glass or Forsberg is also not reality.
Play the kids see what ya got. Put 19 on the 3rd line as a center with Hartman or ElGato, let Anisimov be the 1st line center, leave Schmaltz with Kaner, maybe add Saad.
Hopefully Osterle returns to his earlier form with Keith, and you roll the dice with the rest.
1 800 Rockfrd; its tryout time. |

Need to start unloading whoever you can for whatever you can.... there’s no sense chasing what would be a first round exit anyways...
Reload with the kids for next year... ride out next season... back in the driver’s seat in 2020 with the right moves and acquisitions |

Don't tell McD that Garrett Sparks is a local kid......did he ever play with Vinny? - powerenforcer
Yes, they played together. Garrett is a year older but they have been at the same club several times. |

Maybe crow should get the Carolina doctors to let him know if it's more than just vertigo. (God forbid.)

Just like the Chicago Bulls will never have a better window than the Michael Jordan and friends days, the Blackhawks will never have a better window than they do with the current Core they have now. Therefore, you go for it every single year that this group is still together. Because the reality is that for every year that you concede, everyone gets a year older, slower, etc. Starting to see it already with 2 and 7...
Time is not dimension, it is relative. With that perspective, you must take advantage of every opportunity in relation to peak athletic ability. We have had a lot of "good" teams that never raised Cups (Savard and Co, the Roenick/Cheli/ Belfour days, etc). The Toews/Kane led group is different. They are champions. 3 in the bank. A 4th is out there. Be aggrressive and get it.
A lot of people criticize the team that lost to the St. Loser Blows in 2016, but we were tied 2-2 midway through the 3rd period in game 7, and a double-post shot by Seabs is a hairline fracture away from getting us to overtime in that game. Point being, the trade deadline pick-up of Ladd that year, while costly (Dano and a 1st if i am not mistaken), put us in a very good position to be a real Cup threat once again.
I realize that we look extremely mediocre this year, but again, another year gone by is another wasted chance. From this fan's perspective, I say get in the tournament and roll the dice. Maybe, just maybe, the 4th Cup (7th overall) comes as a dark horse like the Kings did as an 8th seed in 2012. - Katana777
I agree with you. You can't just "throw in the towel" on the season. They are not that far out but yes they need to go on a run for sure |

Crawford's injury could put his career in jepardy, given his age and the seriousness of his vertigo. The acquistion of a veteran goalie could spark the veteran and the team also. Petr Mrazek, few years ago was spectacular in a first round loss to Tampa. He is only 25, hopefully he could regain that form again. Him and Forsberg could potentially form the Hawks next tandem for years to come. Detroit practically begged Vegas to take him in the expansion draft, and might come for not that much. It's certainly woth a call to the Detroit GM. If not, they need to ride Forsberg. Have to see what you have in him for future. |

I think a top 4 D is more useful than a backup goalie. There's not a ton available, but there are some that "could be" okay. Jason Garrison just got called up, presumably to be showcased. Paul Martin is going to the AHL for conditioning after an ankle injury. Tobias Enstrom is likely available. Maybe Chayka does us a favor and hands Hjalmarsson back since he's struggled in AZ. Ian Cole is available. Mike Green is available. All have upside, but also question marks. I'd personally pass on Garrison. |

Just imagine the conspiracy theories that would fly through the NHL if the Hawks have to LTIR 50 for this injury. As in LTIR for a year or two. |

The rules seem to be set up for this. Make the playoffs and use the $'s then suit up Crow AND Hoss.

A number of NHL teams were in Sweden over the last couple of weeks to scout potential free agents. There are four I know of: defencemen Lawrence Pilut (age 22) and Joel Persson (23); winger Michael Lindqvist (23) and centre Par Lindholm (26). Pilut’s father, Larry, was born in Detroit and played in the NCAA before going to Sweden, where he settled. Among the teams who were watching: Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Nashville, Vancouver and the Rangers. Likely more.

I agree.
(FYI - This is all for fun OK, so don't go crazy folks).
LTIR Crawford. Free up cap space
Make a trade for some top forwards and or D.
Bring back Hossa and Crow for Round 1 / Game 1 of the playoffs (if they make it and if they could play).
NHL up in arms.
Hawks win Cup
NHL up in arms part II
NHL penalizes Hawks severely
Hawks Brass says HA HA TO NHL
Hawks demo the team and rebuild.
