they only have 7 games left with teams with worst records...i hardly think that is a positive...they have demonstrated they can't beat top 16 teams with any regularity...
but to your point they have aves (3), stars (1), preds (1), blues (3), jets (3), wild (1) = 12 games; current record of 5-6-2 with 4 regulation wins 13 games
pacific division: knights (1), kings (2), sharks (3), ducks (2), flames (2) = 10: current record of 1-3-1 with 1 regulation win in 5 games
combined = 6-9-3 with 5 regulation wins in 18 games
they have 22 games left with teams WC playoff hunt; even if they somehow split those games and improve vs their current record they have to win 80% of their games vs everyone else including the top teams in the east: bolts (1), caps (1), bruins (2), bluejackets (1)...and they close with blues-jets-blues (2 of those on the road)
to accomplish a playoff bid with this schedule we would have a major hyde to jeckly transformation...
