that seems like more than 2 things.........Vegas found 6 D all better than Enstrom so interesting how you seem to think he so irreplaceable. Buff and Enstrom at times look like an absolute tire fire out there.

so last year with you it was postma and dano, this year its enstrom and dano, what are you going to do next year if they are both gone?

- Ross77

Rexy is right on Enstrom. He is a valuable depth D who still has a place in the lineup. Fans are down on him because he has been paid like a 1/2 and is not the type who can take over a game. The next contract should reflect bottom three grouping.

As for Vegas they essentially had the pick of the entire league 3-6th d-men. They were set up to be a team with deep defense by the league. Enstrom would have fit in well with the group there but they were persuaded to go another direction.

2 things:
1: Enstrom won’t be moved. He has an NMC.
2: Enstrom is absolutely extended/re-signed. For a few reasons. There was not 1 player in free agency this year that could’ve adequately replaced his defensive play. He’s still our #4 dman. The organization is fiercely loyal, and they’ll keep him as long as he can play. At the same time, Enstrom wants to be a Jet, and he’ll stay that way even if a pay cut is involved like last time.

- Rexypoo

I think Kulikov not only matched but has already exceeded Enstrom's play. That's why Kulikov is considered our number 4 and Enstrom is 6.

You just answered your own question. Kessel was the missing piece of the Stanley Cup teams. Pittsburgh added another high impact forward in Kessel when everyone was talking about their defense.

I say we go all in and get a Barkov. I love that suggestion!

- TheUltimateJet

Why would Florida let go of Barkov?

et me counter with;

Myers + Little + Melchiori + Mathias + 2018 2nd rounder

for Riely + whatever 3rd or 4th line center you want to give us.

how does the trade look when reversed?

Looks like your Richard!!!

The article stated the team may need a LHD & 3rd line C ya fack!!

Take it easy pal

Trouba for Barkov
+ swap first round picks

That’s the value of Trouba over a forward represented

You can send a 6th rd pick for Schenn if you’re worried about a vet for the playoffs

Connor- Scheifele- Wheeler
Ehlers- Barkov - Laine

Scary top 6? Best in league?

Then you stil have:
Perrault-Little-Lowry-Armia- Tanev - Copp - Hendricks- Matthias - Dano

All are 2 seasons away ....at best. We will have to replace Enstrom next season.
- bennythehat

I disagree, niku will be ready next year, this is his third season playing against men and if we are lucky Stanly could be ready by next Christmas or only spend one full season in the ahl.

Enstrom would literally be with Theodore on the top pairing if we went by results.

Incorrect. Kulikov is the #4 because he’s 26, and 4 inches taller. Again, if we’re going by the results, Enstrom is better across the board. Maurice’s greatest weakness is, and has always been, player evaluation.

My favourite part of the Enstrom thing is that he was cheeaaap when we originally extended him. He’s not a top pairing guy anymore, but he was the 21st most effective defensive player in the NHL last year (WAR rankings. And in his worst season, too.)

Well we know who they say stats are for?
Enstrom is a bottom pairing now and would have no business in a playoff game. If we drew Anaheim or LA Kings in Round 1 there’s no way he could play, would get killed

Barkov, Barkov, Barkov. Lots of noise on here about him. Great player. Every team would love to have him . However he is signed for cheap until 2022. No way Florida is letting him go . No chance in hell. Same with Trocheck.
Not sure who mentioned him as a trade possibility but its a poorly researched suggestion. Move on.

Personally I think the help is needed on LW. Guys that might be available are Pacioretty, Hoffman , and Jason Zucker. I'd take any of those three on a reasonable deal.....or take Stone and move Wheeler to center .

Add Keith Yandle. LHD, 31, decent contract. Probably get him for a bottom 6 fwd, and a pick.

Nice numbers, but..... 6.35 mill for 5 more years after this year for a 31 yo (turns 32 in Sept 2018)........... I will pass on this one.

I like Stoner but his contract is up after this year and is a RFA. I think Ottawa wants to retain him but I like him. Hoffman has a couple years left, like his pts production. It would be nice to get a couple of years out of a trade if possible, particularly that I am sure these guys won't come cheap in terms of picks or prospects. Pacvioretty's contract is up at the end of the year and he is a UFA, and Zucker's contract is up as well as RFA.

Any of these players would be great additions. My preference would be Stoner but might be a steep price and end up only a rental. But, if you are going to have to sell the farm so to speak in terms of assets to acquire, perhaps Hoffman might be worth it or the best deal as at least you get him for two more years after this one at 5.6 mill. He certainly wouldn't hurt the Jets.

So...

Gardiner + Bozak + Carrick + Moore 2018 2nd (salary retained if necessary)

for Trouba + either Matthias OR Hendricks..or whatever 3rd - 4th line center
you can give us.

Leafs top six D corps - Reilly/Trouba -- Zaitsev/Hainsey --- Dermott/Borgman

That is pure garbage.

See what you said about Barkov and relate it to Stone! poorly researched suggestion, move on!
LW? seriously, why? Connor, ehlers, Perreault, are our top three LW now. not to mention Copp, Lowry, Petan, Vesalainen, Lemieux, Foley, all shoot left as well. I said earlier, LW is by far our deepest position on the jets and in the system.

Enstrom has already waived for the Vegas draft FYI. We can trade him anytime

He brings what the team needs now, if the Jets want to get to the promised land. Of course there are other options.

I don't think they will trade him tho, I am sure no one wants him. Who would want him? I think there is some value there for the rest of the year as depth D but if there is a playoff series (touchwood) he will be ineffective against bigger teams as we already saw that play out against Anaheim. He's got the brain but has other challenges. There is no reversing age and size challenges.

Nice sales pitch, if Philly picks half his salary for the rest of the term, I might think about it. I agree, Yandle has some good qualities but the term and price, ouch!!
