I am starting to think we should have spent our 6.25m on a top pair dman, instead of a 2nd/3rd line LW - mr.sir
Marleau has been good this season. The last few games he has been poop but overall he has been one of the most consistent players.
Marner has been frustrating the (frank) out of me lately |

I'd be willing to give the Rangers Gomez and Pyatt if they also throw in Higgins and a 2nd. |

Imo.
The Leafs should try a run at the cup.
They are a competitive team in the East and have as much chance as any to make it far.
Besides, any team that would be interested in JVR, Komarov or Bozak would also be a contender.... which means what you're likely getting back are picks and prospects... imo Toronto has plenty of young players already and would benefit more from established players in the roster (especially on defense).
It might be stupid from an asset management point of view but I think it's the way to go for them.
Because I'm stupid. - Scabeh
I think so, I wouldn't say go for it but improve the team at the TDL for sure.
When things aren't going well for the Leafs it's negativity all around, when things are going well we are cup bound.

Yep, 3rd on the team in goals and easily the best or second best forward in his own end.
He's playing exactly how everyone expected him to play.
The last 5 games I agree, he hasn't played well. But Leaf fans have terrible memory and take wins and losses or recent play from players too seriously. So I'm not surprised some Marleau hate is coming out now |

When I say "go for it" I meant with the team as it is.
Unless you can get a legit top pairing d-man as a rental... this team is as good as it's gonna be this season imo. |

sometimes you got a take a step back.
without a weak division and all-star level goaltending, playoffs would not be guaranteed the way they are. those 2 things make it seem like we are better than we actually are.
you don't want to be the sens and overplay your hand. |

The team needs a 3rd pairing D, and maybe a bottom 6 center as well. It dosnt cost much to acquire those.
If they can get a top 4 D then that would be great. |

I'm not sure how the sens overplayed their hand?
Except making a stupid trade for Duchene that is. |

The team hasn't even reached its potential this season and is 4th in the east and 12 points up from the first team that can catch them......
Its hillarious what some losses can do to you guys |

if we want to be serious contenders, we need a dman to replace hainsey on the top pair. hainsey has played admirably, but he should be on the bottom pair.
upgrading bozak is also still needed imo. |

Funny how people are blaming Babcock
Komarov, Polak, Hyman all played pretty good last night.
Marner was brutal, he costed us the game. The players who are getting paid or will be getting paid the big bucks did not produce last night. Matthews included - Santo_44
My take about Babcock right now: he OBVIOUSLY knows better than all of us when it comes to coaching... obviously... but.... when his style and management that he is very confident in is repeatedly producing the same negative results, it SHOULD be questioned. |

yeah, but it'll only take us so far.
the team in-font of him is not good enough. |

I don't understand how he kept the Kadri line on at the end of regulation when they couldn't get the puck out after the first 2 faceoffs. So what does Babcock do .... he leaves them out there.
Then he starts OT with Heyman and Kadri. Like seriously???
I don't get this guy anymore. |

I wonder with the $6.25 mil X 3 years if we could’ve done better with other free agents?
I also wonder the way leafs played in beginning of season run & gun and they were winning is it because they are now playing a different system? Because IF IT IS many of leafs look like they’re playing on low octane fuel or BABCOCK wearing on them? |

They are one piece away from being considered a considerably more serious contender though.
Granted, a #1-#2 defenseman is a big piece but still. |

What about Edmonton
Signs Drisitil to 8 million while players like him were getting 6.5 million
Trades Eberle for Strome
Could of had Barzal but traded Rienhart for the pick
Trades Hall for Larson
Signs Lucic 7x6
Signs Russel to a brutal contract
Could of had
Barzal-Mcdavid-Maroon
Hall-Drisitil-Eberle
