What does last year have to do with this year? This year he has 17 points at even strength and 12 on the PP. He's been rather average 5 on 5 this year, 40th among LW in EVP. Not that great defensively either.

The Leafs will not be a Cup contender for another 5 years, but don’t trade Gardiner for assets that will be more useful 5 years from now and definitely don’t play Dermott so he can gain experience for those 5 years. Because reasons.

Off topic. ..I think kapanen will be a top 6 forward. Didn't realize till the other day he has 30 plus goals in his last 60 or so ahl games.

I like Bennett 's size. He will never be a jvr replacement, but I do think he will be a solid player.

Plays a lot tougher than JVR, that's for sure. I still remember the game he beat the poop out of Trouba. Been playing in the NHL since he was 19, has the same amount of career goals as Nylander, talented, two-way guy. Gilmour always had great things to say about him when he was playing in Kingston. Cherry would be going nuts.

Brown is a 3rd liner based off ice time because Babcock has him but he's capable of more. He's better than Hyman. Certainly scores more than him. But Hyman's really a 1st liner because of his ice-time? Nah.

You're the one trying to say Brown is just a 3rd liner and crap, not me. I'd be happy to keep Brown and add more guys like Brown, especially when they're younger, more talented, bigger versions of him.

Connor brown hasn’t really had a chance playing on 3 or 4th line. Go see what this kid did in junior. Mind you he played with Connor mcdavid. But look in Edmonton many have tried too be successful with mcdavid and we know the answer. Brown is a keeper and I’d hope if they trade him we better be getting good returns

He can play center and he was when Jagr was healthy. They put him on the wing when they brought in Jankowski. And yes, it would work great to unload Bozak too and call up Kapanen full time.

He's an offensive styled guy and should really be playing where Hyman is because like you said, he was great playing beside McDavid so he's proven to be a good complimentary player along side a talented center. I wouldn't move Brown any time soon unless it was for something amazing on defense. I think Brown is definitely a good keeper.
