Yup. I would honestly keep Grabs. Love Nash, but think Grabs should stay. |

Isn't there some rule about not being able to do that? |

Only if they were bought out. Re-signing traded free agents is totally fine. |

Ahh. I knew there was something about not being able to do something for a year. Just couldn't remember what it pertained to. |

If the trade deadline were today and the team was playing like this, yes, I would. I personally have a hard time seeing this team competing for the Cup, but I am willing to give it a little more time.
I am also basing this opinion on believing that the Rangers can get a lot more for these players than a lot of people think they can.

If it was up to me:
Trade Nash, Holden and Desharnais for whatever you can. Play 3 kids in their spots.
Listen to offers for Capt. Mac and Zuke. If somebody want to overpay for them, then it must be considered.
Re-sign Grabner for preferably 2 more years, 3 years if $$ are reasonable. |

I am fine with the EN goals he scores. I think it was 2012, Rangers couldnt score a single frickin EN goal all year. Every game gave you a heart attack. |

if you remember correctly I also did not want to sign him fwiw - mrn22
At least 2 of us were right about him |

You realize Shatty is first on the team with goals for a defenseman and 2nd to McDonagh in assits, but 1st in overall points. Sixth on the entire team in points. So you want to sit our most productive defenseman.
You see how that works. You use Buch's points for being 2nd on the team, but you hate Shattenkirk even though he leads the defenseman in points. Bit of a double standard? - mdw7413
And the last 27 games what has he done? Offense from a defenseman is secondary to you know, playing defense. |

Well apparently you were the only person who thought Shattenkirk was being brought in as a defensive stalwart. I'm sorry for your pain

Marc Staal is so stable he doesn't even have to play full games anymore.

It may have been like that when you watch in 1965. But in today's NHL's you have to get offense from your d-men in order to remain competitive.

I was never under the assumption he was good at defense. You all said I was exaggerating how bad he was at it. He’s not only bad at defense, he’s terrible at it. |

Skjei provides some offense and can play defense.
McD provides offense and can play defense.
Shattenkirk, not so much. |

Hmmm, let me try this.
Ryan Mcdonagh 40 games played this year, ZERO goals!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been saying that for a while now, he’s having a rough year all around this year. I’m 100% on board with trading him. |
