Think you're playing the wrong way. My neighbor had a huge steel barn that he made a small section into a shuffleboard court. As kids we would play for hours. Haven't played in 30 years.

The town pool growing up had shuffleboard, horseshoes, and volleyball. Got thrown off the horseshoes for over shooting the sand and landing in the pool. The adults took over the volleyball. Only thing was shuffleboard Last time I played was probably the same.

Tried it once when I was fourteen. All the hot girls curled so I figured I'd give it a try, and maybe luck into a lady or two. Anyhow to make a long story short, within the first fifteen minutes of stepping onto the ice, I slipped and broke my nose/chipped a tooth on a rock. Cried like a bitch and embarrassed myself in front of all the hot girls.

Haven't curled since.

Bronze medal!!! They beat Russia (always nice to do, at any level) 5-1 in that game. The US took it to Sweden 9-3 for the gold. We had absolutely no media coverage of the tournament. Poor girls. For some it might be the hi-light of their lives and nobody gave a poop!

Actually, proper curling equipment calls for one foot to have a slippery covering over the sole, so you can slide along and keep up with the rock. 'Cause you know, you have to make it MORE dangerous on the ice!
