Would they have to call someone like Read up to do that? Isn't there a veteran maximum for the AHL? Just curious. - jmatchett383
I think Read is better than Lehtera, but they can have as many vets as they like in the AHL. They just can't play more of than 7 of them in an AHL game.
I don't buy that. Team recently had a bye week and has played one game since then. Starting your #1 goaltender in an important division game is not poor decision making. - MJL
It is poor decision making when he hasn't had a game with a SV% over .903 since before Christmas.
Elliott was a solid signing at the price and his numbers are hurt by the god awful PK that Hak and Lappy have come up with, but they are using him like the Caps use Holtby and he's not cut out for that. In fact, Holtby only has 33 starts this year - two lees than Elliott.
