I'm curious to know if this is known fact or just your own presumption that he burned bridges as he left
Wasn't he fired? I never heard anything about Chia flipping the bird on the way out...or smashing up the office before he left to Edmonton
if anything I could believe they were just pissed at him for trading away Seguin the way he did - cpltanto
Nothing to see here....just Iggy pretending he's plugged in. |

is looking at where your draft picks are, how they’ve evolved, whether they’re even successful or not, and seeing that you’re moving that next generation into your game,” said Mr. Jacobs. “So when you have cap issues, as we have and had, that you’re not forced into the position we’ve been put into, as explained by their having to make some serious changes with regard to the personalities that you have and the characters you have on your team.”
I don't agree with all the rage Iggy directs at Chiarelli but there are some things I do agree with. The Bruins certainly blamed Chiarelli for the position the team was put in. |

Yes but where is the bridge burning?
Chiarelli was incompetent....that's why he was fired which we can all agree with
But in what way could Chia have supposedly left amicably?
Iggy said "Chia obviously burned his bridge. Most people would try to part amicably knowing in your line of work if you are ever going to get another job you’ll have to deal with these same people again over and over."
I just fail to see how he burned bridges by leaving....not like he left on his own accord when he was under contract...THEY FIRED HIM. Like you said, they threw him under the bus and blamed him...if anything they burned the bridge if there ever was one

I guess you dont know much about Jermey Jacobs...the guy who has been part of owner groups responsible for 2 lock outs, with your main man Murray Edwards.
Jacobs isnt the forgive and forget type |

I like how the article and even Neely himself down plays his involvement with the decision making. I think Neely and even Jacobs can take some of the blame for the position they were in. That was a big reason why Chiarelli demanded to be named President of hockey opertions when taking the GM job. |

It was the other way around actually. He was originally only offered the President of Hockey Operations to replace Lowe but refused unless he was also named GM and had full autonomy.
And if you can't see that the Bruins taking a lesser offer from the Flames for Hamilton and demanding a boatload more from Chia means there was a grudge there then you're blind. |

Yak and Shultz gone for jack squat.
Pouliot buyout for ...reasons.
Trade Gordon for Korpikoski then buyout Korp.
Lucic contract.
Russell contract.
How he is employed is beyond mind blowing. - Iggysbff
lucic can barely keep up in the league now...imagine in a couple years, let alone in five.
And russell, well other than diving in front of every shot imaginable im not sure what his value is......just a couple plugs, adding a 10 million cap hit for the next 3 years.....

I definitely think there was a grudge, on both sides. As well both sides are to blame for that, Neely and Chiarelli didn't really get along that well at the end. But end of the day the decision was on Boston. They decided to let their emotions get involved and took a lesser deal then what they could have taken. That's bad management and that's on them.
If I am in a pool and have a chance to win a $1000 and a buddy of mine makes me a trade offer for a player that can help me out but then this guy in the pool that I really can't stand makes me a better offer for the same player that helps me out even more, damn straight I will be making the better deal with the guy I can't stand. |

You’re all assuming the Bruind took a lesser offer. Maybe all Chia was willing to part with was his 1st and 1 2nd. CGY offered a 1st and 2x 2nd rnd’s. Chia knew Hamilton and maybe wasn’t willing to pony up for a player he didn’t like. Either way, though, he screwed that up. |
