No he did not you fukin liar. He said that he personally scouted Reinhart at both memorial cups and he said he was nhl ready. And he said he thought he had the tools to play right side in the nhl.
Go suck Chias tiny little cack faggit.
And no the oil were not talking about taking Barzal because he was supposed to be off the board well before we were supposed to pick. The fact he slid and every “expert” was screaming Barzal would seem to maybe hopefully changed their mind but who knows.
You’ve taken on the role of the biggest moron in these boards since we don’t see Hallfag and JB around. I’m not sure who is dumber. You or oildumb. It’s a toss up. - Iggysbff
Frankly the Bruins are almost bigger idiots for passing oon barzel 3 freaking times with there ridiculous off the board picks.

Chiarelli stated multiple times at and around the draft that he relied on his staff for the Reinhart trade.
It was a huge mistake by the organization, absolutely, and while Chiarelli is ultimately responsible I think it's a stretch to blame him solely for the trade.
Also.
It was widely reported the Oilers, as well as many other teams, had no interest in Barzal. While anything is better than Reinhart the obsession of some anti Chiarelli Oiler fans to go on and on about Barzal is just disturbing. - Aerchon
No interest in Barzal at the time? Especially from us? Especially considering he fell down to 16th?
Prior to the 2015 draft, our best centre at the time was RNH (followed by Roy, Gordon, and Belanger.......... see where I'm going here?). LD was having a rocky start to his career after he was drafted and there were no other top 6 blue chip centre prospects in the system at the time in case things went south with him. We got lucky with the McDavid sweepstakes, but that should not change the fact that we should have shored our centre depth through the draft, especially with Barzal still on the board at 16th (was supposed to go 11th or 12th I believe)!
Had we drafted Barzal, I think the RNH for Jones deal would have been a reality. Had we gotten Jones, Hall would probably have never been traded. Many ifs, but all relative to the tangibles of one trade.
Even if you make the case of us looking for winger depth, Boeser, Connor, and other fellow wingers were still on the board.
Regardless, the trade was a panic move from my perspective whether you're a Chia hater or not. We should have been looking for an absolute, not another maybe when it came to defence. |

No, ur totally right. It’s been overblown
The oilers are in good shape. Having a great year for a team learning to win that needs to be upswinging in connors last cheap season.
Leon wasn’t overpaid .
Russels a great value contract.
The gambles to get cheaper and depend on unproven wingers has totally planned out. Our scoring from those positions is lowest in the league and clearly isn’t hurting us at all.
Don’t miss eberles pace for 65 or halls of 90 while being a legitimate hart trophy candidate.
Depending on russel, benning, nurse and gryba to be enough to carry the load left by sekera was brilliant. Super glad we didn’t use any of that extra cap space we have right now. It’s really great to have at this point.
They're all just haters . He Hasn’t set this organization back at all |

I see the fairy dust spilled in this thread again!
Time for a draft blog, the continual bashing of Chia is old! We all know he sucks, but I guess until he's canned some can't let it go. He's no Brian Burke! - K-man25

Isn't the fact they had no interest in Barzal the problem in the first place? That they had no interest in a really good player who was available to them? If management and scouting were on it like the Isles staff, then they would have picked him. |

Imagine what Brazal would have done with McDavid?
It must suck to be an Oiler fan and see the combo of Eberle and Barzal tearing it up. Those two together with RNH would have surely reduced the sting of losing Taylor Hall. - TheUltimateJet
They didn't LOSE Taylor Hall....just ANOTHER in the long list of Chirrelli blunders. How do these idiots keep a job. It is beyond any reason!!! |

Actually this is the second big move that was a total bust.
The first move was his negotiations for Dougue Hamilton. If he hadn’t burned bridges and had even a bit of negotiation ability we would have grabbed Hamilton with those same picks. If we get the Hamilton deal done, then there would never have been an even worse move in Hall for Larsson. - Iggysbff
In no way am I trying to defend Chia and many of the moves he has made but there is no way I would put not acquiring Hamilton on him. I don't think you realize the stubbornness of Nelly and Jacobs. As tough as it is for me to say this, I actually give Chia some credit for probably swallowing some pride and trying to work with them to make a deal. At the end of the day though the ball was in Boston's court and they had an offer from team X and a better offer from team Y and they chose team X. I fault Boston for not taking the better deal. |

the second he made that trade he should have been fired......it was an obvious fleecing at the time, even if the picks didn't turn out.
eberle, barzal, beauvillier, hall...for larsson and strome.
i cannot think of a single reason chiarelli has a job. not one.

And I put the blame on both sides equally. Chia obviously burned his bridge. Most people would try to part amicably knowing in your line of work if you are ever going to get another job you’ll have to deal with these same people again over and over. |

I'm curious to know if this is known fact or just your own presumption that he burned bridges as he left
Wasn't he fired? I never heard anything about Chia flipping the bird on the way out...or smashing up the office before he left to Edmonton
if anything I could believe they were just pissed at him for trading away Seguin the way he did |
