Did someone say that comment? (your location)
Marner is 3rd in points in that draft class!
It is interesting though, how well Hanifin (5th), Provorov(7th), and Werenski(8th) are doing. This is the first time I've questioned that selection

I remember Martin St. Louis, when he played with Calgary. He reminded me of Marner, now. Once traded to Tampa Bay, he bloomed. It's too early to put him into the category of just average. He's showing signs of coming out of his funk, and really, it's just the middle of his second season. As Leafs fans, we expect a player to be at the top of their game, within a year of making the team. Unless you're a generational type of player, you can't expect to be a great player with less then 100 games under your belt. Revisit this topic a year from now and then re-evaluate.

Nothing compares to Eichel on pace for the most ENG's of all time.

Matthews Hat-trick: 4 goals in 2 periods

Laine Hat-trick: 1 PP goal, 1 own goal, 1 EN goal

Eichel Hat-trick: 3 EN goals or 2 EN and a lazy backcheck that lead to a goal against.

you just never give an inch with baseball.

Those (frank)ers swung for the fences every game and paid dearly for it.

his OBP was .323 last season which means he draws some walks, but he also struck out 122 times last year.

Also, he is not an upgrade defensively.
I don't see the benefit to signing him.. he may get 25-30 HR's but this team can't win playing the long ball.

Jays signing Granderson is akin to the Leafs trading for Paul Martin (not the former Prime Minister)

Its not the only stat, but it does give an indication on what type of season, the player is having..

And you don't have to be.

I find people are a lot more patient with the Jays than they are with the Leafs, despite the Leafs having a very clear direction they're taking from management, while the Jays have no direction whatsoever.

Everyone likes to make fun of Boston and Edmonton for this but nobody ever gives Florida enough crap for taking Lawson Crouse at #10

That's amazing.

(That's a rough little shot. I mean I pegged him as a bust before the draft but it's still early to be taking jabs at the kid)

If a player is batting .190, chances are, that they are less likely to be having an All-Star season compared to someone batting .300

spatso was so sure he would be better than Marner because he made Team Canada to play 6 minutes a night in his draft year. Sad times.
