I have watched him now at multiple levels take time to get rolling and when he does the results are fantastic. I believe that part of the issue with his play (and lack of offense) is an adjustment from how he usually plays to how they want him to play. I think the types of inconsistencies and breakdowns he has had should result in some time out of the lineup...not extended time out of the lineup.
The Flyers could very well be playing the 6 best defensemen for tonight, but they'll benefit more from getting Sanheim playing well - YuenglingJagr
It's a good question and a problem the Flyers need to solve. He needs to play to improve but will that be in the NHL or AHL? I agree hes spending too much time in the press box recently but at this point in the season the best players have to play. Can't count on Sanheim getting on a roll after his shaky performance last game.
Which is why you send him down and have him play 20+ a night in all situations. - MBFlyerfan
I would be fine with it. It seems counter intuitive to what they've said (besides just the not having a prospect sit).
Morin is ready, but it stuck in LHV. Sanheim is also ready but can't play. Sanheim might get on a roll in Allentown and translate that to the NHL when he gets another call up. Who is to say PP2 time wouldn't do thta though? Either way he needs to make the transition to the NHL.

He played 6 minutes for the first time in what like two weeks?

Everyone else on the ice was coming off a break.
Sure he has excuses. If you look hard enough every player does. With in those 6 minutes he took himself out of a play resulting in a goal against and tripped over himself almost resulting in another. He did not look ready to play is the bottom line. The 3 D you want him to replace were all solid.
a win tonight only delays the inevitable sell that should happen this year - 2Real
Based on TSN's forecast, The Flyers may sniff around for cheap rentals but won't be trading anything significant to make it happen.
I think if they believe guys like Lindblom, Sanheim and Morin are ready they should be listening to offers on Filppula, Manning, Raffl, Weal, AMac and maybe even Simmonds. At the very least lay some ground work for the off season.
I'm sure they want to move Lehtera if a suitor pops up. I'll never say never after seeing Lecav get dealt.
Been playing very well, both at ES and on the powerplay. Still can struggle at times in the D zone, but he has improved his overall defensive play quite a bit and he's been getting a lot of top pair time with Provorov recently. - BiggE
Too bad the stats don't indicate that. If he was solid defensively, the Flyers would play him a little more 5v5 with a lead, wouldn't they?
Fully on board with your top eight. Your nine and ten elicit virtually no emotions from me at all other than normal game night "beat them" emotions. I don't consider either of them remotely close to being rivals.
The Devils, on the other hand, are a different story. I hate them with nearly as much passion as I hate the Rangers. - Scoob
I hate the Caps fans/management more than the team.
Funny how people react to different things. Honestly, I never think about those two groups at all. - Scoob
Based solely on one game, I found a lot of Caps have to have forced enthusiasm. For instance, they weren't sure when to cheer, but once the jumbotron tells them to, they want to show how much they can cheer. 100% sheep fanbase.
As for the ownership, it's pure hypocrisy. For years, when they were bad, they had no fans. They actually counted on the away teams' fan base to fill their stadium. Now, all of a sudden they have a good team, and ownership will not sell tickets direct if you're not in the DC Metro area. So they welcomed us with opening arms 10 years ago when we helped keep them from folding, but now we're no longer allowed to go. Bullpoop.
Can someone explain "expected goals for" to me? I don't know how you can measure an "expected" amount of goals that a player will score year to year. - jmatchett383

You get one every time the play by play guy gets excited and/or the crowd grasps.

it is a model that takes into account things like shot type, shot location (distance and angle), personnel strength, rebound gathered from NHL data. The model itself is something that can change depending on the source (of the model) and what they value more (i.e. Corsica vs HockeyGraphs)
