All this talk about Crow having a drinking issue, don't you think it is questionable that Q is the pitchman for Binny's, with Q's background? For a team that is so keen on optics, whenever I see Q in a Binny's ad I just shake my head. Bad optics.

Please educate me. What is it about Q's background that bothers you about those commercials? For the Record, i'm no Q fan. Infact, if the rest of this unremarkable season goes the way i think it will, they( Mr. Wirtz) need to back up the truck to the ravine and press the dump lever. Just my opinion of course. Thanks.

Oesterle has played very well, especially at $650K per. Great find. As good or better than Del Zotto.

The only reason they would want Del Zotto is that it might be a way to dump another salary in trade that they don't like.

But if Bowman really wants Q and the whole coaching staff to up and quit, he should make a couple of trades and add Jake Gardiner, Del Zotto and Tyson Barrie to the defence and pair one of them with Kempny. Q's head would explode right on the bench.

Agreed. Playing with a lot of confidence, has minimized his defensive miscues (with a big exception on the Mantha goal Sunday when he got manhandled by Zetterberg then comically took out Keith), moves the puck well, and has an effective point shot. Q has obviously liked what he's seen from Oesterle as he was playing the most of any Dman the last 2 weeks including taking over Keith's spot on PP1.

I really don't put any stock into a player wanting to play for his home town. Seabrook has spent his entire career in Chicago, it's just as much home a BC for him.

Maybe UFAs who don't have much to choose from will look to play for their home town, but I don't think it's a deciding factor anymore.

Yes there are issues with Forsling and Ruuta as you pointed out. They play, at least Forsling does because he is the best, better than Keith btw....at reacting immediately at speed. He can play a speed game. Forsling also is taught to keep moving when you are in th ed offensive zone. You see flashes of great play but all too often mixed in are some of the performance you mentioned.

Regarding Ulf he has been severely concussed since Domi layed him out cold for being the creepiest, dirtiest player in NHL history. It is NOT a plan to pinch and penetrate wildly. There is a time and a place where it makes sense and that time and place isn’t all the time you are on the ice. Forwards help out defensively but it is not their jobs to constantly also be D-Men,

THoughts on what it would take? I know it doesnt mean much but Ek has him on the rumor chart so i would be curious to what Sakic would be asking. Of course, now that they are in the mix for the playoffs he is likely not available, but he would be a nice piece to add to an aging blue line.

I'm curious as to what games you're watching because that's nothing like what happens. His system isn't hard to see. It's both d-men back and a forward to support for the quick out. Your comment about pinching wildly doesn't make sense at all. They are only pinching aggressively when they are down a goal or on the PP. Forsling and Rutta were borderline the best pairing for 2-3 weeks, but they've also played a total of .75 seasons in the NHL combined.

And probably even MORE than that if a deal with the Hawks were to go down. Sakic doesn't want to send him to a divisional rival. Hell, isn't Colorado ahead of Chicago? Why would the Lanche want to sell? Try to make a run with their young team. Probably wouldn't last long in the playoffs, but why not go for it, put fannies in the seats and build for the future. I think Barrie should be a core piece.

I have no idea what makes you think Ulf’s defensive approach is to “pinch and penetrate wildly”, it’s primarily to get the puck out of the Dzone and going back the other way as quickly as possible. It doesn’t require forwards to constantly be Dmen, it does however require them to get back to the Dzone quickly so Dmen can make quick short outlet passes.

I am far from being part of Falwell's moral majority and I am totally fine with porn and porn stars, but he essentially was harassing porn stars trying to get a hookup. The optics look bad, for a marketing driven team.

My take other than that is I don't see how he's such an improvement over the guys we do have.
