He hasn't been real noticeable, I don't think him not being here is going to make a difference to be honest. - nyrangers9479
Alright, I was trying to be brief for effect (write that down, Saver).
But, the gist of my questioning runs something like this:
If you feel the need to shake things up, or give Holland a shot, or whatever motivations drive this team, ...and you’ve given Lettieri a chance that he’s running with fairly well, ...is there not a way to sit DD (or waive, if that’s what it comes to) rather than break up a line that has been the ONLY one to show any will, passion or tenacity over the last few weeks? And we’re talking about breaking it up in a way which you can’t simply tell them they’re back together if you change your mind.
Hell, there’s has to be some way to sit down one of the “Untouchables” for a game or three and replace them with Holland if you really want to send a message.
I try to be optimistic, but I’m having trouble seeing what the grand scheme is here.
As a fan, I don’t need 82 wins a season. All I need is to know that they have a plan and are working it.

Pretty sure they are just throwing stuff at a wall now to see if it will stick. Not sure why he wasn't just scratched for a game or two. He had a rough last 2 games, but in the scheme of things it doesn't matter too much that he gets sent to the Pack.

I get what ur saying. I don't mind calling him up and maybe Kosmachuk. Plays with some grit seems to be playing somewhat decent down there.
Could you briefly share here? Don't have twitter. Thanks - nyrangers9479
Basically, just sit Desh. Carey/Nieves/Fast is a solid enough fourth line, leave them together or play Lettieri if move Fast or Carey to third line. Desharnais can't be sent down without passing through waivers. If expecting more than a late-round pick if you deal him, then you are fooling ourselves, unless another GM is a sucker.
I am fine with calling up Holland, who has 33 points in 36 games. But why does Nieves pay the price for a mistake or two Sunday against Pittsburgh. Desh deserves blame for Simon's goal, yet he doesn't get pine time.

I see what you’re saying. It’s not that I think Boo is the next saviour, just that’s it’s poopty that he gets sent down when he has played better than many of the other forwards. Perfect situation to really send a message that these guys have to wake up and give a poop.

Yeah, I would have maybe just gave him a day or two off. Think Miller needs some time on the 4th line. He forgot he was a gritty player that shoots. Wants to be a finesse passer now. Go figure
People may hate this opinion but I've said it before. The Rangers need a pain in the ass / sandpaper type guy. They've had Barnaby, Avery, Prust, Dubi, Dorsett, Carcillo, etc
They have no grit.... they need a guy like Tom Wilson. The guy you absolutely HATE playing against but want on your own team. Take him with all his "flaws", but big hits and big fights change momentum. The team has no fire, no life.
You can't tell what you've seen from the Rangers that are legit candidate to make noises in the playoffs. All I've seen all year on this thread is how the east is winnable outside of Tampa. That's just not true. As of right now all these teams would be favoried if they played the Rangers in a playoff series: Toronto, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Washington and Boston.
