How about if we wait too long and he breaks an ankle and we get nothing?
Trade him right (frank)ing now. Not worth the risk imo.

- TheHank

He's missed at least 12 games for the past 5 years in a row. he's never played 82 games. This year he's missed 0 so far, so without sounding too dramatic, because his 8 year track-record says he will miss time, he's probably gonna miss time.

Botterill should know that, and hopefully he pulls the trigger soon, because he's an injury away from landing the Sabres nothing

Fasching is playing with speed?
That’s good
If his skating has continued to improve, then he can definitely be an NHL player
He’s got the size & skill to score near the net...
skating was his issue that I saw

- jdfitz77

I’ve said a couple times during this game he looks much faster. He takes a little bit to get going though... top speed is pretty good burst still needs work.

We should get a pretty good player if we get Larsson that be pretty amazing

Who’s your Darkhorse to get moved?

I’m going with Jake McCabe

- GERBE!!!75PTS

I could see that
Idk if anyone else would really be considered a dark horse
Maybe someone like Nylander or Bailey gets moved?
Botts probably has enough info on those guys to know who he wants to keep & who he wants to move

Now that GMTM is gone,
I do think that Fasching is a prime candidate to be moved in a deal

No reason for Botterill to rush into any trades, the league know's the Sabres are sellers. Time to sit back and let the offers come in, some have already.

I can see Bailey being moved. He's had value around the league, but I've seen nothing that says he'll be a good NHLer. He should have been a permanent part of the Sabres at the start of this season, and now he's playing 4th line in Rochester. I'm afraid he may have peaked at the AHL level.

Good point. With a foot of snow on the roof, and all but the windshield scraped.

Agree with this 100%...in Nylander's limited action in a Sabres uniform I feel like his style of play seems more conducive to the NHL rather than the much grittier AHL.
- feetontheair22

There may be some truth in that. The Panthers' Denis Malgin is a highly skilled smaller player from Europe (played on Auston Matthews line in Swiss league). Last year, at 19, was his first season in NA, with all the injuries the Panthers had he wound up making FL's opening day roster and did ok on mostly 3rd and sometimes 4th line, but was eventually sent down. He was recalled later in the year, and in an interview said just what you said. He thought it was harder to play in the grinding AHL than it was playing against the higher skilled players in the NHL.

This is only his third or fourth game back, I think they are limiting his ice time right now.

But I agree he still flies around but can’t process the game or the puck as fast as he plays.

Hopefully it came fully equipped with these:
