It’s just that besides Guhle, we haven’t picked a defenseman in the top2 rounds since Risto & Zadorov

Obviously that’s why we are such a mess on the back end

I agree with others that a good defense that can move the puck up the ice will help the offense immensely

Despite being positionally terrible, he still produces average NHL results.

I think everyone has essentially realized Lehner is nonlong term solution. If his name shows up from time to time in future lineups it’s only because there are other guys on the team that are positionally terrible and produce below average results.

It doesn't matter if Lehner sucks or if he's an average goalie, his time here is all but finished. Ullmark is NHL ready and there no point in keeping him in the AHL past this season. The Sabres management apparently love him and paid to keep him out of Vegas. He will be our goalie come next season. There is no point paying Lehner 4M+ when Ullmark is the guy they want to be the starter.

We also need to open up Rochester for Johanson, we don't know what we have in him. There is a big gap between Ullmark and Pecca-ukkokko%lo-look#o and Johnson is the only stopgap in between (Kasdorf will be released), we need to know where Johanson stands moving forward.
