Why does everyone keep writing this off? Would he not want to play with Boeser in one of the best cities in the world? Not to mention his childhood friend Gagner is on the team. And then you sell him on the center depth he'd have supporting him on lines 2, 3 and 4.

I don't see any player under 30 signing a 1 year contract. So after eliminating the under 30 class I don't see many if any desirable options. Just my opinion.

I agree, it's not a bad sales pitch and I'm sure his agent will listen and highlight the situations in the offers etc... here's the thing, everyone is going to be pitching their best efforts to sign him. There will be teams on that list that have more to offer. Quite a few. Stanley Cup aspirations trump all and it's a crap shoot judging which really young team is going to gel into a cup winner down the road compared to teams on the cusp of challenging that really only need that over the top addition.

Stop gap ufas is what i would like instead of sedins.
Gaudette, lind, gadjovich, palmu, dahlen, pettersson, juolevi, all get slow approaches to the show. No rushing. Draft and develop. Keep the cap semi low till these kids are ready. Boeser wont be cheap. Sign cheap, low term ufas till one of these kids forces them out. Canucks arent lifting anything for the next 3 years. Trust the process

Look how ladd lucic and erikson have panned out as examples.

You want to pay maroon 6x6? Those will be the types of deals getting handed out.

I would rather pick up a couple of bad contracts that are 1 or 2 years in length and take assets with them. Use the cap space to speed up the rebuild while maintaining cap flexibility. This is also something we can if we resign sedins to cheap one yaer deals.

Its out of our control, but i would prefer to see them as scouts next year in sweden than i do in jerseys on our active roster. Just my personal opinion tho.

I would be fine with it if they played 3rd/4th line minutes next year. They get primarily offensive zone starts, high minutes, 1st unit PP. I just want a bit of a refresh and see the new core excel into their current roles a bit.
