I'm joking. Of course everyone can have an opinion. My original rants were triggered by reading some articles that suggested that there is an animosity toward Babcock from the fanbase all of a sudden that, according to the writer, rivals Ron Wilson. A bunch of letter writers were complaining about him. That just blew my mind. For me, the current management group has been so golden both in their past and with the Leafs that they have a million miles of benefit of the doubt with me.

I'm really happy about the state of the Leafs, coaching included, but if people want to have a beef with Babcock's love of Hyman and so on, go ahead. I do hope that no fans seriously would like to replace Babs if they could, that does seem nuttier than squirrel poop.

Nielsen had more goals, points, was still a plus player and has NHL size. Even if Dermott was better, which is debatable, Nielsen is still a top prospect and not worth trading for garbage like Gudbranson.

I completely agree that Nielson shouldn't be traded for Badbranson, but it's not really debatable between who was better last season between Dermott and Nielson.

No point in arguing, though. We both agree that we should keep him.

I'm bored too. If OEL is made available this deadline, the asking price is two higher end players and a 1st apperently.

Putting Gardiner hate aside and realizing with his flaws he is still a top 4, and knowing that the Arizona GM is big on advanced stats.

Arizona gets a top 4 D in Gardiner they can afford to resign, a young cheap two way forward that can get you 20 goals a season, and a 1st round pick.

Pains me to give up Brown but you have to give to get. Is this enough? Maybe add in a 2nd but it's a good offer IMO.

There is a reason why these prospects are all with the Marlies. Dermott is undersized and not very strong, Nielsen has to work on his defense, Liljegren has to get use to the North American style and so on. They all have something to work on. But Nielsen wasn't -30. He was +7. It doesn't tell the whole story but his size, big shot and overall skills and tools make him more valuable than a sack of poop like Gudbranson.

Throw a pass down the sidelines, where they HAVE to throw it. Somehow the Saints defender has a total brainfart and goes right by the receiver without touching him, the Vikings guy catches it, and realizes there is no one behind him, so instead of stepping out of bounds he goes all the way for the touchdown.
