Middling NHLer is exactly what he is. He's currently a 3rd liner producing at around a 3rd line rate with the potential to maybe do so at a second line rate. He's a middle-6 player in the NHL thus a middling NHLer. Whats contentious about that?

If he's currently a third liner, the please explain how that isn't exactly what he is. Never said that this is his ceiling but ceiling doesn't dictate current evaluation; only potential future evaluation.

I bring up Jankowski because we've been hearing jokes about him since the moment he was drafted. Given the fact that he was taken 21st overall, and we traded down to grab a pick in the 2nd round (who turned out to be Rasmus Andersson) I think it's quite topical considering it's been years and years since an Oiler fan has seen any sort of move that good.
