I think the question is whether he is the prototype for what Botts/Housley want the team to be. I think the answer can be "He isn't the prototype, but he is still a valuable piece."
"Blah production" depends how you measure. And while he may not be a burner, I don't think of him as slow.
Having a fast north south team does not require every player to be a burner, the team's overall speed must be good.
We can say that ROR had a bad start to this year without saying that he is a blah player. He adds a lot more to this team than most of the replacements I think you would put in his place.

I still think they should try him as jack's winger
Since we are talking about some GMs making bad moves, wonder what pieces would apply to get Hoffman or Pacioretty? Those two are the best that are on the market besides Kane IMO but don't think you'd see someone like GMJB getting them from a divisional rival - Beezer33
I was thinking about Hoffman and with Spector stating that Phaneuf may be on the market, would you be interested in a package deal for one of our bad contracts to take Hoffman and Phaneuf back? Say Okposo and Beaulieu?
