But the rebuild on the fly is working no?

I have said all along I have never been impressed with Gorton. Not many of his moves are seeing positive results

That may be a good option for next season, since he is likely out for the remainder of this regular season. But for all those who put down Girardi and Stepan for the past 2 or 3 seasons, they can now see what those two meant both BEHIND THE GAME SCENES, and while on the ice, after the repeated breakdowns of this team, especially defensively speaking wise on both ends.

I'm about 75% there now with you and Cranny on a overhaul change needed with A.V. & his bench assistants, and Gorton as well, as I wrote after this rout they suffered today. They all should not have any say if going under a complete restructuring of this team, whether in a complete rebuilding mode, or in a retooling mode to try to contend next season. Under either mode, new management and a new coaching staff must be brought in here, except for Benoit Allaire returning as goalie coach.
But there lies that holdup, because there is no way under James Dolan that he would be satisfied in losing additional income, by allowing any GM here whether Gorton or someone new, to have the team be sellers, & have the Garden void of any postseason games. That's even more especially so when his beloved Knicks appear once again that they will not make it to the NBA postseason.

WOW! What a defense core that will turn out to really be!
The only player you replaced is McDonagh with Ceci, who had about a (-25) +/- rating for Ottawa at one point this season.
But you also did name one new replacement player for their 3rd back line unit.
That one you listed was named "WHOEVER", as in for you, likely in bringing back Dan Boyle out of retirement.

I watched that and just listened to his post-game interview. Right now, he is one of the view with heart and guts and desire. The remainder of the comments to me are lip-service. He truly feels the burden of being a leader and is trying to act in that manner.

That's why they can never entertain the thought of ever trading Hank, unless he were to demand a trade, but which he will never do in not wanting to leave N.Y., even if it gave him a much greater chance at winning a Cup elsewhere.
He is their only player that cares and wants to win everyday, including against his own teammates at practice. The saddest part is that Hank is also the closest one they have that has CAPTAIN like leadership qualities, depicting another asset that was lost after both, having been forced to trade Stepan, (due also to his NTC kicking in this season), to create the cap space dollars to sign Shatty, in addition to buying out Girardi last summer.
Other than in goal with Hank, their biggest spark for them on the ice at any time is Grabner, who I feel should be offered a 3 or 4 year deal, and not be traded, even if they become official sellers.
