Leaf fans believe Eichel is top talent. However his numbers (goals, wins, losses, plus minus, Calder) all pale in comparison to Auston Matthews. Matthews scored40 goals as a rookie. Won Calder Playing 2nd line minutes and with Zack Hyman. The Leafs continue to insulate him. He has veteran peers who can play. In a year or two it will become his team.
The Sabres on the other hand have hung Eichel out to dry. The pressure to win is all in him. Despite tanking for the last four years, they still do not have enough NHL talent around him. The culture of losing still is a rotten stench around the franchise. It really is s shame as Sabre fans deserve better.
All I am saying is Garth is delusional. The Sabres franchise is a disaster. They are in last place in the eastern conference. They do have some good players coming but not enough of them. Soon they will be trading their best player three years after they traded a ton to get him.

Babcock loves them because they are reliable defensively, rarely take a day off, kill penalties and is obviously not wanting to play Matthews, Nylander and Marner 26 minutes a game in their sophomore season (Nylander a tad more)
