Calgary's powerplay isn't that great and Burke loves JVR and Bozak so no reason why he couldn't get them to resign. Polak is his type of guy and he fits their situation better than Stone who is overpaid so we take him off their hands. Bennett hasn't reached their expectations and they have other young guys they seem to be pushing ahead of him. Backlund is also a pending UFA. I think it's a pretty balanced deal that works for both sides.

Gardiner gives the puck away up ice, making plays. I'll take that over a guy who can't skate it out or make a clean pass, and rims it off the glass every time; rinse and repeat.

Absolutely. I'd like the NHL to start tracking passes like they do in the NFL to see which players are the most accurate passers. For example, if Gardiner passes the puck 50 times a game and gives it away twice, it looks a lot different than if he passes the puck 10 times a game and gives it away twice.

Leafs don't play for awhile so while nobody has anything to talk about, he comes up with something stupid that everybody is going to talk about.

It's a stupid idea. Can anybody think of any team that's ever traded their best player at 20 years old in his 2nd season for no good reason?

Blow it up. Do it like the Leafs did. They're lying to themselves if they think they can compete in the AL East now. Everybody over 25 (except Stroman), see you later, tear it down, rebuild.
