So what you're telling me is that my boy Bryan Rust is elite...

Man I miss him

I did see a quote from GMJR that he expects Rust back before season's end.

Your Hornqvist chart doesn’t surprise me one bit. All the comments about Hagelin still being an effective top 6 guy is exhausted. I agree with Tojo on moving Guentzel back to LW and us being fine there. I’d be all for a buy low center. I can’t imagine it costing too much to get Girgensons. Got a chart on him?

Do one for Letestu. After shooting the poop about him with Dupuis, I've become convinced he's the best realistic target for what we need out there.

Trust me, I was shocked to see all that blue. As much poop as I used to give Rust... he has blossomed into a solid top 6 forward. Definitely made me eat some crow.

Test tube should cost us a 5th or 6th the way they give away players in Edmonton.

Letestu is the quintessential undervalued player in this league. Smallish-skill guy who isn't good enough for a top 6 role. A lot of GM's have an aversion to hiring skill guys for the bottom six because they don't bring enough #gritness. Throw in the fact that he's played mostly for bad teams so he doesn't even have the "winner vet" reputation and I don't think he'll garner much interest. I'd be willing to pay all the way up to a 3rd or 4th for him, but I bet we can get him for cheaper.

Cap won't be hard to figure out either, seeing as how he costs just north of a mil. You know, swap him and The Sheriff, and the cap essentially works out perfectly

Imagine if Chi decided he liked Hunwick and felt like he was shoring up his D for the future by swapping expiring Letestu for Hunwick

How about Cody Eakin from Vegas? I might start liking pretty charts!

With Vegas being in contention for the (frank)ing Presidents Trophy, I think making a trade for a Golden Knight is pretty much off the table. They're buys not sellers.

They have centers galore! They might need a LD, Hunwick plus they might want some more spped, Hagelin!

Actually, I'm thinking they might want Cole!

Maybe, but they're rolling with what they've got going. I'm thinking that if they're looking to add they'd rather trade futures than roster players. Center is also a super valuable position. You can't have too many of them.

honestly.. Hunwick's entry stats are okay for a 3rd pairing guy.. but his exit stats suck Richard.

I think Hunwick has become Hags at this point. Negative value when you consider the contract.

That's not super surprising. Hunwick's a pretty ok skater, so he has the skill set to carry it into the O zone, but he sucks Richard at decision making and general defense which leads to a tendency to get hemmed into his own zone.

his decision making in the O zone is trash too sometimes. He makes the weirdest pinches ever. I don't know what he sees.

He's been brutal on the right side. I think Ruth misjudged his ability to play over there. He looks incredibly uncomfortable.

So in the bye week we get to see some more stats of a different kind? Are we supposed to decide if a player is good or bad with these stats? Are all players supposed to be in the blue! Honest questions. Is Bryan Rust an elite NHL player? What style of play are these players being told to play? Is a dump & chase with heavy forechecking a bad thing? Does that show up on these stats? Again, honest question. Do stretch passes show up on these stats as that would be a positive zone entry only the player doesn't carry the puck out.

Are all players supposed to be doing the same thing as these stats do suggest they should to be blue? Honest question.

Thank CJ. @CJTDevil The toy is pretty cool to use too, it's nice that it's some different stats as opposed to the usual corsi/shot attempts. Gives a different perspective.
