Problem is it's a double-edged sword. Let's be honest, the only reason we're all sitting here being crotchety about it is because we're on the short end of the stick (assuming you're white).

i got lucky.. the school i went to i paid around 12k a year (not including room and board) about 2 years after i graduated it cost around 20k to go there and i think now its almost or could be over 30k a year. i also paid for all my school but the final semester out of pocket and help from parents. i then took a 3% loan on the remaining amount which i paid off in like 5 years.
