The best part of the deal....all the glorious cap space!!!!!! - DarthKane
well done!! Not only do you get the better player (IMO) but you get additional cap space as well.

Exactly.
Powers just had that in a piece with a scout describing Duclair.
Babcock said similar about Panik... so a change of scenery hopefully will be just what Duclair needs. - Justin Lowe
well he should motivated..
1. he wanted to be traded and he did
2. to a much better team
3. contract year

LOL based on what I've seen from Duclain in AZ, expectations should be tempered. However, I remember Duclair having a hell of a stretch scoring and making highlight reel plays in New York his rookie year. The fact that Panik costs nearly $2mil more and has lower upside, I like this trade. - EnzoD
You just never know how it will turn out with a young player given a new lease on life elsewhere, especially one with good physical tools and a knack around the net. I'm not expecting a Wayne Simmonds but if Duclair can play fast, smart and consistent in whatever role Q gives him, he will stick around. If not, off to Rockford he will go like predecessors Mark McNeill, Morin, Jimmy Hayes, Kyle Beach, Brandon Pirri and others. |

First of all, yay for a trade!
If Justin is correct and Stan is working the cap space hard, i'm looking forward to seeing who the big prize will be.
And, this trade, like the other moves made recently, seems to have an eye towards the future as well as the present. It's good work by Stan. |

Panik for Duclair is a sick deal. Big mistake by Yotes, but nice gain for Hawks.
Now just waiting for the Seabs to Toronot for Gardiner and a 3rd news... - Hank3Henshaw

i've been yelling about Duclair and how well he'd do in Chicago for two years. Glad Stan is on this board to listen...
Seriously though, if this was a McD plan to get some folks excited, it is working. And if someone a few posts back seriously suggested that having Danault back would be better than Duchene, I have a bridge to sell you... It's in pieces and may or may not have once been known as the Tacoma Narrows... |

Sharp can still skate pretty damn well
REALLY like the way he's been playing. Another great sign for our forward depth which is becoming outstanding. |

Wild has two rookies in the lineup.
Mike Reilly has 30gp this season. He was a top collegiate f/a a couple or so years ago and Bowman had interest.
J Ericsson Ek was a #1 and initially made their opening lineup last year. He was scoring in brief time in the AHL this season. Highly touted
Anyone able to say how they look this year in the NHL?
LATE info: seven D in game. Gus still sitting. Top heavy veterans on Blue line in Rockford: Franson, Pokke, Svedberg, Clendenning, Gus (pending). Also Raydish, Norell, Dahlstrom, Snuggerud = nine |
