against the kings, vegas and their divisional opps they are 4-11-2: 2 wins vs the wild, ot winner vs the preds and nice regulation win vs the jets; 3 regulation wins in 17 games...

let us continue vs the kings, knights, blues, aves, stars, preds = 11 games they have had the lead a grand total of 8 minutes...in over 660 minutes of hockey...

you can't beat the teams in front of you...let alone get a lead...

Pretty much the tale of the tape.

Do you know how many total goals they have scored in those games?

I agree that we should not be buyers, But I also think we should not be sellers. Look at this team compared to last? Chicago was a +31 last year in 82 games 9 OTL and we are +16 thru 43 games 6 OTL. So we are identical to last years team other then last year we won a bunch of 1 goal games. this team is younger faster and deeper IMO. if Craw gets back and assuming we can get going in the next 20 days we play 6 games. Need to get at least 3-3 then go on a run after Craw gets back.

in the 11 games vs knights, kings, aves, blues, preds, stars (1-8-2) they have scored 21 goals in regulation = less than 2/gm and allowed 38 = 3.5/gm giving up more than 1.5 goals per game than they score....all i can say lebron has it right about the hawks and playoffs

and dont think for a minute Q and the stabow and co. are not aware of how poorly they have played vs the the better teams

Agree that we SHOULDN't probably be buyers.

But what would it take to get Pacioretty?

Could the Hawks offer a package that would do it? I'd think another team can offer more/better. Just asking....

I'd like to see Duclair tried with DeBrincat, since he is rumored to have elite speed and great hands. Think that could better leverage Alex's skills than his current line.

My guess would be a lot. Salary would have to go back the other way, I doubt Montreal would want any of the Hawks bigger contracts.

I say the Hawks should Stand pat this trade deadline, at most they could sell off some pending UFAs like Bouma or Wingels if there are no plans to re-sign.

The Hawks seems to have a glut at forward, I wouldn't mind seeing Stan deal from this pool to grab a defenseman. As much as I like the guy I think Hartman would be the likely target to get traded. I truly don't want to see Hartman go, but he has trade value and wouldn't hurt as much as losing Debrincat or Schmaltz.

I don't know where Duclair will slot in, but I'm sure the Hawks will want to see what he can do. On Twitter I've seen a lot of fans pencil Duclair in as the "ideal" LW on Kane's line. I have no issue Q trying Duclair in that role, but I think we should temper our expectations a bit.

the though in my head was... (not that they should do it, but what would be competitive offer)

To Chi: Patches, Schelmko, Conditional 2019 4th (if hawks have to give up 1st)
To Mtl: Anisimov, Kempny, Hartman, Highmore (maybe even sikura), 2019 2nd (1st if Hawks win Cup).

So you trade from a position of weakness (center) by moving AA for a position of strength.

This team DOES NOT NEED wingers, period. We aren't collecting sports cards here, trying to build a team to contend. You either need a Center or a D-man to do that with this team.

When I see this, it makes me giggle and think of JJ.

StanBo: “Right now, I like this group, I really like our team,” Bowman said. “Obviously, I wish we had a few more wins under our belt, but I’m very excited about this group.”

The only way I trade Hartman is if we get back a defenceman who plays a physical style and is a mobile or just above average skater. To be clear, has to have a brain and can play defensively at high speed. Someone like I Cole used to be on my bucket want list, but he sits lately because there is part of his game that he cannot adjust to - and it involves the playing at speed thing.

There are plenty of offensive drafts at defenseman in our pipeline. Keep Murphy for third pair and trade for the second pair dman by keeping Murphy in our third pair. Bowman does this also:

Draft a power forward. But he has to be in the top ten first round 2018

Consider trading DeBrincat or Schmaltz for an equally young power forward. But I do not think Virtanen, a Vancouver #1, is good enough.Stan could wait to see if Sinkula establishes himself as a top young forward then explore trade options. Need the guys we trade to not loose value

What do you think about that scenario?

I like both ends of this deal. Panik for Duclair is a no-brainer.

Dauphin for Clendening intrigues me because Dauphin appeared to be going nowhere with us. Whereas, Clendening has experience and had some success in the NHL (esp with the Rangers where it looked like he had found a home for a while). And he is still only 25. If he does not play for us, he is probably a better fit for Rockford than the other guy was.

I wouldn't wrap on the axle with this team anymore. Should have won last night. Period. Q is Q and the same old crap will always rise to the top of his cook pot. Zero consistency. Whoever called the game against the Wings a loss is spot on. Win, lose or draw Q cant leave anything alone. Coming off an 8-2 win, you don't touch the line up. Yet he did and they lost.

Nice job by Stan to get Duclair. Panik was a lost cause with a rediculous cap hit.

Schmaltz shouldn't be dealt, he has too much talent and he's getting better and better.

Virtanen would be Panik 2.0, the team already has a project in Duclair I would stay far away from Virtanen.

Hartman for a defenseman of equivalent talent level would make sense. It would suck to lose Hartman, but it would bring more balance to the team.

Messing up the lines by playing 7 defencemen has never worked for us. Why did we go into an important game like this without icing the 12th forward, especially when one was available? If you are going this way, at least play one of those D on the wing. I would love to see what a Forsling or Kempny would look like on the wing. Remember Doug Mohns after we got him from the Bruins, I believe?

Just a week ago guys like Darren Dreger were reporting that Stan liked his team and was going to stand pat on make on trade... then Duclair trade happens.

I also believe there something has to give with their defense. I would expect to see Gustafsson get some game action soon to see where he's at with his game at the pro level.

Either way, it sounds like Kempny is the odd man out. They haven't requested a trade per se, but would very much like an opportunity elsewhere.

Things can change very quickly from the "we like our team" line. Because Stan won't want to "like" his team out of the playoffs.

Hartman and Kempny for Severson and a 4th (with some slight adjustment for the cap).

Severson is a stud and NJ just signed him long-term. Don't see it.

However, remember I was saying Stan was searching for those "hockey trades" and not just for this year, but for the longer-term... this Panik for Duclair deal is exactly that.
