The Duclair trade was awesome. Panik is a pumpkin. Duclair has ELITE speed and is a good overall player.

Getting healthy would be a good thing for this club.

CC and AA are needed.

I blame Coach Q for this loss. That power play by the Hawks was sickening to watching the last 5 minutes. Toews, Keith and Sharp once again showed nothing. When will the coach learn? Having Toews and Kane playing together and double shifting screwed up the other lines on the ice. IMO the Hawks need a coaching change ...this team needs a new head coach who is not afraid to hurt the feelings of our core and is willing to come up with a new and more creative game plan. The Hawks presently are a bubble team with a head coach that Father Time has swallowed.

That's a tough loss, crew.

The Hawks had them on the ropes in the first and really needed 2 or 3 in that period, which should have happened.

They let the Wild hang in there and they came away with the win.

I personally wasn't a fan of the 7D (I never am) as it usually causes chaos up front or, in tonight's case, to play 1 forward 26 mins. Kane had it going on but was gassed by the end of the game.

Also, thought Keith had a horrendous game tonight. He needs to be much better.

Ticket prices in Rockford are much cheaper if you miss Franson that much. You must be the only person other than his mother and father who still thinks he belongs on the Hawks.

Thanks for the tip .I bet Rockford PP improves . Sounds like the same sediment as when Daly was send packing .

That is funny. Why not bring Scotty in for the duration of the season? I bet the power play would be 50% better and his top 3 lines would be more productive because he wouldn't use a new blender every day and do a better job in evaluate the talent that is given to him. Furthermore, Stan would find a creative way to break the blue line trap that has alluded Q for over 2 years.

Last time they played 7 defenseman, they gave up 7 goals in a loss to NJ. Q just said in his press conference that playing 7 defenseman "isn't the greatest thing for us", yet he did it anyway.

Keith was atrocious. I lost track of how many times he turned the puck over. The most egregious ones were the one at the end of the first period (or second) with a few seconds left that Forsberg had to make a big save on and then on the last power play in the third when he skated the puck into the corner, spun around and gave it right to the Wild player, which led to a breakaway. He played like it was an exhibition game. If Q's reasoning for sitting Seabrook was poor play, then Keith's ass would be in the pressbox on Friday. THEN you're really sending a message to this team, if that's your intention. Of course, Keith being scratched will never happen.

The PP reverted to it's usual form. Now we're back to passing the puck down low to Toews at the side of the net. The play didn't work two or three years ago when they did it on every single PP and it still doesn't work now.

As for Duclair, yeah, it's a no brainer, so I don't have an issue with the trade, but I don't expect anything out of him. He's 22, can score and skate like the wind, yet this is the second team he's been on that gave up on him and couldn't get rid of him fast enough. He's poor defensively, so how long do you think it's going to take before he's in Q's doghouse?

again ...earlier stated before the game...i hate that down low toews stuff play...they have been doing it for years and it rarely converts; i get it looking for a scrum or rebound goal...but its to damn predictable...hell the defenders are giving that play to him...

noticed kane dangling on the half boards and the other 4 hawks are red statues...no movement...who the (frank) is in charge of this poop..yeah they got 4 last night...but then its back to abby normal tonight

keith off the pp NOW....he is a mess

Duclair is NOT a gamble...Hawks can't lose. Panik returned to his old self and was overpaid and virtually worthless. The Hawks now have a younger, cheaper, more talented player...who if he is a head case will not be back next year.

No brainer...

Simple.

I noticed after the Ottawa game that Q said they have been looking for that kind of production on the PP all season and I was thinking "All season, hell, don't you mean that past 3 or 4 seasons. The PP sucking every year is like a right of passage for this team. At some point, I expect them to drop to last in the league in the PP standings - they were pretty close to it before the Ottawa game - which is simply inexcusable for a team with the amount of offensive talent they have. The fact that Q continually runs Keith out on the PP, is just direct evidence that he has no idea on what a good PP should look like.

it seemed like the turning point of the game was the off-side challenge by MN after Seabrooks goal. How many minutes did that take? It was a buzz kill and the Hawks never got it back.

here is a really good article from yesterday a day before the trade. sounded allot like Murphy in that he put up Avg Numbers on a really bad team. I think the murph deal looks solid.

He wouldn't have to skate anymore. ...a directors chair would do the trick. It is not about how old you are but how well your brain is still functioning. I know an 89 year old that knows all of his friends phone number by hard ...Amazing guy! Just like Scottie.

Getting serious, IMO, Q's shelf life has been used up... Time for a change!

Keith for Buff. What do you think?
- powerenforcer

No way. A first pair for really a third pair, although Buff has special qualities. And Keith is not a very good first pair this season, but you are minus a leader on defense if you swapped them.
