So in 1992 pat's 148 points weren't good enough for a 6 year old?
That's a pretty early age to judge leadership quatilites as well.

To each there own.

His jersey is hanging from the rafters

GM Eichel isn't going to like this kind of outburst from Head Coach Jack Eichel.
- BINGO!

repost your here comes the buffalo Sabres gif again. That is in the running for post of the year. I finished reading just as the truck on fire came chugging around the corner. Perfectly executed. I'd say Beady's dumpster fire Winter Classic jersey reveal is your biggest competition, but perhaps a pile of tires with flames would've been better suited. It's close.

the best players and scorers do not usually make the best captain though
- homiedclown

Could someone give me an example of anything LaFontaine did as a overrated captain?

Sure he quit the sabres recently but, I do not remember anything negative about his leadership.

I was in my 20's , not 6 or 8 years old.
Patty was awesome.
Sabres were winning. He was the captain.

Ror I understand the beat with, nit the captain but has to take some of the losing blaim

I was at the game last night, and it's cancer to see ROR get plastered into the boards twice, shoved back to the ice, and gets up to do not a single damn thing about it.

Thought guys who dont visors in the NHL were supposed to be tough?

News to me.

He was a great player, I've always thought so. But as a captain? Where did this team actually go with him "leading" us?

I'm not gonna touch an analogy between a starting QB and a second line center, but ROR is gonna get his 20 goals, 60 points as usual which is statistically a really good second line center
- jcragcrumple

Sure, but he isn't deployed like a 2nd line center

Canucks asking on the availability of Reinhart and Scandella.
- SABRES 89

Let me answer that. Yes, they're available, cash and carry, buy now, pay later, lay-a-way, clearance, and name your price.

I don't think he did anything to be overrated at all. he was the best player on the team and one of the best in the league. Loved Patty LA LA when he was here. Was some of the most exciting hockey I have ever witnessed in buffalo...LaFontaine and Mogilny on the same line was just ridiculous

I will give you an example

Lafontaine was always known as a great guy outside of the locker room especially with the community. He spoke at Bishop Timon and my grandfather introduced him to the audience.

My grandfather was one of the founders of the Fed Hockey Leauge.

Lafontaine was very respectful of my grandfather, he shook his hand and called him Mr Panek.

My grandfather was very close with a bunch of Sabres personnel.

I know him and Anderchuk had legit issues with each other which lead to Dave being traded.

I can't wait until this team is gutted.

Hey where was ROR to bring the team together during practice today? Saving it for the interview?

We had some pretty good teams . For some stupid reason, muckler kept starting fuhr who was over weight and not hasek.

Eventually muckler caught on.
So how that overrates pat?

No one ever compared him as a captain to messier.

Waiting for an example still. He was a good captain. How is that overrating him?

Did he crash a truck a week after signing drunk?

"I think that's why in the situation we're in. We have to find that consistent effort on both ends of the puck. When we don't have it, we have to defend better. When we do have it, we have to consistently get the puck in and be heavy. If there are no more questions, I need to get a few shots and lap dances before I go home to my baby's mama who I may marry someday"

Judging by who led their team to a Stanley Cup as a captain, I'd say that this conversation is over.
