I can’t see how anyone could be okay with the Hall for Larsson deal. If the return included a first then fine. When the trade was announced I kept waiting for someone to say Larsson and...

And very doubtful. He’s not capable. He can not break a puck out. He’s the king of the dump out. How else would it be possible to only have 1 assist this year with all the minutes playing with McDavid. He’s not a very good skater either. He would get beat at the blue line countless times for breaks the opposite way. He also doesn’t have a good shot. He has a muffin wrister and his slappers are more chops than anything else. Why do people think the player we saw for 3-4 games is what he is and not realize the player we see the other 100 games is what he is?

Wanting to see Larsson on the pp might be the dumbest thing ever spoken on these threads. I can’t believe that you even had to explain it to these people.

Only two absolutes in this world: the holiness of our Lord & saviour, Larsson (praise be unto his most holy of cheek bones) and the stupidity of your average hockey fan.

Good. Todd isn't gonna give him a chance so might as well get a return for him. Maybe we can swap him for a similar level of fringe guy that's faster or a better penalty killer.

If that's what happens then sure. If it's another 5th or 6th round pick it's idiotic. Slepeshev was hurt to start the season and been playing catch up since. I have no illusions that he is a a 20 goal scorer but why not give him some ice time and see if you have a player there. That's what the rest of this season is going to be about.

Didn’t they say he and Caggiula were available a few months ago too? Not sure they’ll get any better offers now that they got then.

I think Caggiula should be kept around... I can see him becoming a very good utility player.

I am okay with the Hall/Larsson deal, but that in no way keeps me from recognizing the issues that losing Hall created. Attempted to solve one problem and created another, a problem only magnified with the Eberle trade.

IMO it’s still too early to accurately judge the Hall/Larsson trade. Larsson’s struggles this season (and the teams struggles as a whole) inspire premature doom and gloom. I still believe Larsson has more to give, and I truthfully think that the Larsson of last years playoffs is the sort of player he will be in years to come.

Larson for Eberle and a draft pick would have been closer in value and wouldn't have crippled the team so much.

Shero'Sure we'll give you Larson for Eberle '

Chia 'No deal, dammit, how about has for Larson, Hall had way too much GAF for this team '

Shero 'Deal! '

That's how the trade happened.... I'm sure of it.

I don't disagree but I think it's clear that the coaching staff isn't going to give him that chance. So, if the plan doesn't involve firing the coaching staff (or at least the assistants), then I reckon it's time to move on from him.

I'd look towards Tampa and see if we could get a guy like Cirelli in exchange. Maybe try to turn Letestu into a 4th from Pittsburgh, Maroon for a an Eaves like trade from St Louis or Chicago and then gauge the market on Sekera (to TOR for Brown, maybe).

I think for JB it was similar to Freddy Krueger's conception.
