At least Calgary got a real top 4 NHL defender. You traded Barzal for Reinhart that never play in the NHL lol

No kidding, it boggles the mind that Oilers fans would make fun of the Flames for that deal...They made basically the same deal for a guy who isn't even in the league
Hamonic would be top pairing in Edmonton and the guy is already a better player than the average middle to late first round pick.
Obviously losing a top 5 pick would be a disaster but that is looking less and less likely
Connors just Connor. I don’t even bother debating when a troll comes along and chirps about him. (flashfire, I’m looking directly at you)
He’s the best player in the world and carries this organization on his back. It’s disgusting how good he is. Been watching him full time for 3 seasons and I’m still amazed almost nightly at the sh1t he can do. But yeah, the nhl has too much parity to win on a regular basis without contributions from all through the lineup - HB77
lol I made one post about him probably in his career...saying that 90 points is not worth 12.5M and if you want to be generational (far and away the best player in the league) you need to win the scoring title by a landslide.
This season isn't looking so good for those lofty expectations.
I never once said he wasn't one of the best players in the league, hardly a chirp maybe some reality.

He’s worth whatever he wanted. Wish it was less, but I wouldn’t trade that contract for any other in the league. Wouldn’t even consider it really
We know unequivocally teams had been lowballing us for a couple years on all our assets
So with that said, if that was in fact the best we could get for Taylor hall. U just don’t make the deal
I’m convinced chia undervalued how good Taylor hall is. (Same with seguin) an absolute misjudgement on both.
Total guesswork on my part, but I also have an inkling he wanted Connor as the unequivocal unchallenged leader of the team. So he was happy to jettison hall. (Again, total guesswork)
Either way, He just dropped the ball so badly on that one. Same for the Reinhart deal when just a little bit of detective work woulda shown grif had fallen out of favour in nyi and was tumbling down their depth chart.
It’s hard to wrap my head around how much value chiarelli gave up to end up with strome, Larsson and a couple seasons of reinhart in the ahl. If he he didn’t have that ring, no way he’d still be employed - HB77
Grossly undervalued his own players... But then again thats what they brought him in for. The previous GMs were collectors- and they collected some valuable pieces... Chia on the other hand made some bold changes... Which worked or was a fluke for one season... Looking back now - he literally got bit in the ass on every single move...
Off the top of my head, Hedman's 7.785mil per is pretty close in my eyes. His and Trocheck's 4.75mil are the only two I think get close for me. - MaximumBone
Seth Jones, Klingberg and MacKinnon also come to mind.
