I think his talent level is undeniable, he just can't keep up in the NHL. I could see him having some success in the K.

A lot of miles on that 33 yr old..... Speed is the main thing you need to stay in the NHL these days. Time will tell.

He is just sitting at .50 points per game.. At a cap hit of 7.25 milly. I would say that is a slight over payment.

Just sayin..

Morning

Same pace as Hyman at 2.25 mil for 4 years

And Hyman is a far better, all round player..

Yeah, for forwards I think the lack of speed ends up killing ya... unless you're somehow incredible at protecting the puck or modify your game with better positioning.

Probably why we see guys like Chara still be somewhat relevent despite being 1000 years old.

I think being a slow forward and being a slow d-man is a bit apples and oranges.

Yep.

Easily the worst contract in the league. Sens fans thought he was good again because he played well for 15 games in the playoffs.

Well....so was Bolland and Bickell.

The New NHL, All speed and very little rough stuff.. Gone are the goon days. Goons best be able to skate, or go to the K...

Agreed.

It hurts the forward much more, while defenseman can compensate a lack of speed by better positionning themselves.

For forwards, if your game was built around speed (like Nash as a powerforward) losing that speed will cost ya big time.

But if you're a guy like Thornton, who's game was always about slowing down the pace and finding that perfect pass, or Jagr who was an absolute beast for protecting the puck.... you can age just fine.... up to a certain point.

Kitchener Rangers traded for Logan Brown. Now I can’t hate him.

So is there any way that Gerard Gallant doesn't win the Jack Adams, even if they implode down the stretch?

If they wanted to give an award to Coach Eichel they'd have to invent the Brendan Shanahan best tank award

I think Gallant will likely be winning it, but I think John Hynes gets a lot of votes too

If there was an award like that, they’d get second place. Even when they finish last. Twice.

Only guys that could potentially beat him would be Jon Cooper (President's Trophy domination) or John Hynes (1st overall pick to playoffs)
