Poile did it before with guys like Forsberg (Peter) and Timonen.....

Who knows.... if he feels adding Pacioretty gives his team an even better chance to win the cup....

If you win, doesn't matter who you gave up to do it.

Or maybe we'll give Poehling for Martin Erat

I'm still convinced we're not signing Jake Evans somehow.

The fact he was mostly warming the bench at the Spengler Cup is not really reassuring.

Still, they should try to sign every prospect they have. Speaking of which, they better (frank)ing sign Will Bitten before June 1st.

I'm sorry but stating that Bergevin, Timmins and co. are good scouts/drafters is laughable. Since 2007, when they drafted McDonagh, Pacioretty + Subban (which is incredible in a single year), only 4 players from 2008-now are still playing on the Montreal Canadiens. 4 EFFING PLAYERS!!! The rest have been busts and/or traded with little or no value. That is indefensible.

And these proposals are not close. Vegas will not be buyers at the deadline. They see this season for what it is, an unexpected windfall of sorts, and won`t send high end prospects to anyone. They are building for the long term, as they should be.

Ignoring for a moment that Patches puts both STL and Nash over the cap, there`s no way either team will send 3 legit pieces (Kostin, Kyrou + 1st; Tolvanen, Fabbro + 1st) for Patches + a 2nd rounder in 2018. A draft in which you`ve already stated is weak outside the top 10.

So, if the draft is weak outside the top 10, why not send your 1st + a good prospect for Pacioretty then? (I agree Brandon's proposals are a little over the top)

I don't care.

If you draft them you should at least sign them. Instead of letting them go and fill your AHL roster with fringe ECHL try-out guys.

I'm not saying a team wouldn't send a 1st rd pick and a top prospect for Pacioretty, I'm saying 2 top prospects and a 1st pick is too much. Patches isn't a Centre, so the haul Colorado got for Duchene isn't a direct comparable in my opinion
