Well again perhaps your aiming to high...but look at the Duchene deal

And its not like he scored only 1 season, he did it for a long time AND is salary is pretty low for a 30 goals scorer...

I expect a big return too

- Xizord

If you want a Duchene return, you have to find yourself an ottawa to trade with, thats the key

There's no hurry Brando.

Sakic...GM of the year

He really did a nice trade for Duchene.

I never doubted him.

Except when I called him a complete fool maybe.

The oilers are the most likely candidate to do terrible in a trade.

Unlike Pacioretty who's 29 with another year left with a cheaper contract while posting better numbers?

"Si Duchene n'y est pas, Mark Borowiecki y sera, ce qui signifierait que l’entraîneur-chef Guy Boucher ferait confiance à 7 attaquants et 11 arrières en vue du match d’aujourd’hui."

Guy Boucher is so next level.

These trade proposals are next-level crazy

Something more realistic:

To Pittsburgh - Patches
To Montreal - Daniel Sprong + Ian Cole

One of the best goal scorer in the NHL in the last 5 years vs an unproven prospect and Ian (frank)ing Cole?

I see you're just as smart in 2018.

This is a little absurd. No way the Blues throw in two of their top 3 prospects and a late first.

One is in his prime while one looks to be leaving it.

I never said Pacioretty didn't have solid numbers.

As a Flyers fan it's the thing i wonder about Simmonds. While I like his game, do i really want to resign a guy who is going to be turning 31 at the end of his deal or would I prefer to try and sell high right now.

So far, some would argue that "in his prime" Duchene is sucking big time.

Pacioretty showed no sign of regression before this year (and everything is going the wrong way for the Habs right now).

Besides anyone trading for him would get him for the next 2 years, not necessarely resigning him for the next 8. In which case I'd agree with you he might end up costing too much for what he'll produce in 4-5-6-7 years.

Yeah, Smilie went a little overboard on every trade imo....

But he's not wrong about the fact the Habs should be asking for alot for Pacioretty.

the assumption seems to be that because Pacioretty has had a lousy 40 games, he's now terrible and worth very little in the eyes of all GMs. fact that he's one of the game's top goal scorers over the last 5 years and makes less than Karl Alzner means nothing, because hockey fans are staggeringly stupid.
