I also think his defensive reads and defensive stick are underrated as well. Yes, he gets out muscled on the boards, but I don't think he is as bad defensively as some make him out to be. The adequate defensive play, paired with his dynamic playmaking, I think there is no way you get rid of him. Especially only making 4.5 mil.

From the top of the defensive circles to the offensive end of the ice, Gostisbehere is a top pairing defenseman. Below the circles, not so much. That's due to being at a physical disadvantage. As long as he plays with a good stick and doesn't blow coverages and plays adequately in that area, everything is fine.

Gudas needs to be playing more. He's a more effective dman than Hagg or MacDonald or Manning.

Gudas needs to play better. He has had a sub par season in my opinion. Gudas getting his normal game back for the 2nd half would bode well for the Flyers.

I think he has been playing well since coming back from suspension.

I think his game has definitely picked up and trended towards the good but the first half overall was not normal for Gudas.

I think the suspension affected him. He knows he has to stay away from "the line" but it doesn't seem like he's found the distance from it he's comfortable with yet.

I'm sure that I phrased that poorly so I hope you know what I mean. lol

Ghost is 3rd in defensemen scoring and people want to trade him. Might as well change the name of this site to hockeydrunk.

Earlier this season there was about a week or so where there was a debate over whether trading him then would get them a decent forward to fill out the top 6.

I was against it.

Who am I, Martin Brodeur?

I was never clear on that. Did he sleep with his wife's sister or his brother's wife?

Today I would be against that, too. It's not time for that yet. It may never be time for that. But there's no denying he is a nice shiny object that is probably distracting many GMs around the league.

Sure thing... I usually do a farm system analysis after the season. I'm not a huge fan of ranking prospects since there are factors such as how to weight age and current level of play vs. development ceiling, trying to compare different positions and roles. etc. that make it tough to come up with something I'm happy with. But I will try to do a semblance rankings at the end of the season.

There's one thing that all prospect rankings usually have in common: they end up mostly being wrong.
