What would you do if the guy kept punching your face...I would have swept the (frank)ers leg as well...There was no ref to come in and save him.

What would I have done if the other team told me they were going to fight me if I shot the puck into their net after warmups were over? One of the following:

1) Not shot the puck into the net
2) Defended myself when Hospodar came at me.

Obviously it was stupid right from the start....ok ... but what if in the course of defending yourself there Rocky....what if Ed "the truth" Hospadar gets the upper hand and starts filling you in?

wasn't that Bobby Smith? they should have sent Nilan out...lol.

Could someone enlighten me on this years upcoming draft. It is said to be a deep draft but I was wondering if it was projected to be D heavy F heavy or a mix bag?

Yeah, if he starts pummeling me, I'm gonna try to tie him up. But I'm not gonna turtle after I do something stupid when I've been warned and then take a player's leg out.

I am 100% against slew foots and leg sweeps, as those are more likely to cause severe injury than fighting on average.

Obviously Hospodar would have kicked my ass, but I'm also not a professional athlete known as a semi-tough guy.

Provorov is my ONLY untouchable on the D end everyone else for the right deal may go. I understand wing is probably our most concerning position as of right now, I was just curious if Dahlin garners all the hype and if fans would get behind a theoretical deal.

I think Ghost is being underrated. He plays on the top pairing, he's on pace for 65 points in 79 games, and he only makes $4.5m.

I don't view Ghost as underrated the dynamic of our d-core has drastically changed with his arrival. I just look up and down at our current team and we don't have much that would fetch us a great return in any hypothetical deal.

So according to EK since Ghost is now on Pair 1 we might move a defenseman....

Let the fun begin!

- dragonoffrost

I think the reason to move a dman is that Sanheim should not be sitting out regularly as a healthy scratch. Hextall knows this more than anyone.

If they could move Manning, put Sanheim back with Gudas, and call up Alt to be the #7, that would be ideal.

I also think his defensive reads and defensive stick are underrated as well. Yes, he gets out muscled on the boards, but I don't think he is as bad defensively as some make him out to be. The adequate defensive play, paired with his dynamic playmaking, I think there is no way you get rid of him. Especially only making 4.5 mil.

Semi? I don't think Boxcar was every considered semi. He was normally listed with the Heavys. Even on a team with Brown, Stanley, and Tocchet.

If they could move Manning and Gudas and play Sanheim and Morin (when he finally becomes a diamond instead of glass) would be even better

I agree. However, his best defensive plays seem to be when he aggressively attacks the play in the neutral zone as opposed to letting the play come to him. When you do that, you're gonna have some swings and misses. But as long as you're on the positive side of the ledger more often than not, I'll live with it.

I really wouldn't want Morin-Sanheim as the 3rd pairing this season. Sanheim is better offensively on the left, and Morin shouldn't have to start out with a partner who is also a rookie.

Gudas needs to be playing more. He's a more effective dman than Hagg or MacDonald or Manning.

Noooooo, why move him to wing? He is a defenseman and getting better. We need that offensive threat on the backend. I would not want to mess with what is working.

Yup, that is the player that he is, and I am more than happy to have him on the team. With the plays he is able to make, you have to be willing to get burnt from time to time.

I also do seem to notice him defend well in 2 on 1 situations. It may just be that when he does it well it sticks out to me so it seems like it happens alot, but I seem to remember seeing him disrupt the passing lane in that situation often.
