I think Hart could be the franchise goalie that the Flyers have wanted but goalies take time and are hard to predict.
I think Allison could make a quicker transition and impact with the Flyers as he already has NHL size and offensive game. - J35Bacher
I have watched a fair bit of Hart play and he is very quick poised and reads the plays coming at him well. I think his biggest hurdle will be the mental side of things getting sound mentally for the riggers of NHL life and having to deal with bad games.
I know nothing about Allison but from what I hear he sounds like a player I could stand behind.

I think Hart will at least need a year of AHL. The contracts for the goalies run out when you think Hart could then step in if ready.

This is how I see it also. Elliot and Neuvirth's deals end right when Hart should be good after his year in the AHL. I think this is part of why Mason wasn't resigned here. Mason wanted a longer deal than 2 years and we weren't going to offer it.
I'll start this post with a caveat that I don't get to watch as much lower/minor league hockey you, but
I'm surprised to see Allison above Hart there (also see that you say they are even), but from everything I've read and seen about Hart, you'd think he's the second coming of Marty Broduer. That's not a knock on Allison, have only seen him play a few times (and of course the obligatory youtube highlights).
Do you think think very highly of Allison, or do you not think as highly of Hart? - VladDrag
I am one of the biggest Hart fans around and certainly feel like he is one of the best goalie prospects. Goalies don't have much value until they really hit though, and I also just think building a team in front of the goalie is more important. Yeah, Allison is just a winger, but scoring in the NCAA is impressive. I don't see Hart having any issues at translating to the pro game, but goalies no doubt have a tougher road ahead.
I am fine with Hart at 4 though. I think the first 3 are a notch above the next 3 and they are above the last group. It is a tough exercise to do because of how some are close to the NHL and some you're just projecting.

He's actually been working with a sports psychologist for quite some time and his ability to stay in the moment and shelf games has been mentioned as a strong suit.
There was an article out the other day on it....tsn.ca possibly.
That is why he has so many routines he rigidly follows to ensure consistency in each day/moment.

I think he's been working with a psychologist since he was drafted. The one thing we need to remember is Hart is already above and beyond where most goaltenders are at his age, yet there is no reason to push to far to fast with him.

I believe I read that he is already working with a brain dude for that balance of cerebral cortex and playing a stressful game/position.

Pretty sure that I read the psychologist Hart is seeing is the same guy that Holtby uses. That's not bad company.

Oh, we are good then. I know a lot of people who knew Holtby growing up and played hockey with him. They all confirm he was one weird dude who needs a psychologist.
