I think Ghost is being underrated. He plays on the top pairing, he's on pace for 65 points in 79 games, and he only makes $4.5m.

If you can get a solid 30 point 3rd liner, you gotta pull the trigger

Earlier this season there was about a week or so where there was a debate over whether trading him then would get them a decent forward to fill out the top 6.

I was against it.

People wanted to trade him last year because "They have so many other prospects that can do what he does"

I think Sanheim will be good, but there are very few players with Ghost's instincts and skill

I don't think that Sanheim will be as offensively dynamic as Gostisbehere is but I think overall Sanheim has a chance to be a better all around, all situations defenseman.

That's why his kids can call him Uncle Daddy.

But I was more referring to his on-ice antics. The Devils were first NHL team I know of to actually have full-blown cheerleaders. First game I went to in NJ, they came out during a stoppage. Every other player on the ice was at the bench gearing up except for Brodeur who's got his mask off just staring at the cheerleaders.

As well as Myers.

I thought they may trade a d-man to bring in a future #1 center or top line sniper. I thought the most likely player to go would be Ghost because the other players, provided they hit their ceilings, could match Ghost's output as well as provide better in zone coverage. I never wanted to trade him, but assumed he'd be the one going provided a trade occurred. Obviously, lucking into drafting Nolan Patrick changes that.

After the year he's putting together, I do not want to trade him at all. I think his game is just so special.

Just wait until he has a bad month, there will be people all over the place wanting to trade him.

I thought the Islanders were the first with the cheerleaders... But I might be wrong.

I think Ghost's game has started to round out unexpectedly. We knew he'd be the offensive guy but now he's starting to clean up the defensive zone and is pushing to get past the level I thought he was capable of in that zone. No way do I trade him now.

I'm thinking more on the lines of Filp and Simmer as the trade deadline options.

People also had higher hopes for friedman and we still have guys like hogberg. Personally I don't see ghost as an immediately tradeable assett. He has a lot of years left on that new contract though and there may come a time where I think it would be the right time to make a move. Yes nobody can do exactly what he does in our system but if the others turn out to be better all around players and can all score 40-50 points a year it could make us a better all around team.

With habs shopping pacioretty who is same age and similar contract would that diminish our return for simmer if we moved him ? Would teams take whomever is cheaper ?

If the Flyers are going to move a young Dman for help up front, the guy to move is Hagg. I think his value will only go down over time as he just doesn't bring much skill or offensive ability to the table. Plus, I think he can easily be replaced by Morin.

As long as Patrick remains at the level he is at, and Filppula has to play above the role he should be in, I think it will be tough for the Flyers to improve the top 6 with a trade of Hagg.

Kyle Connor with 2 goals last night. Has 15 on the season.

It made me go back and look at the 2015 draft when the Bruins had 3 picks in a row and passed on Connor, Barzal, Konecny, and Aho. Out of the 4 players from the draft who have not played a game in the NHL, 2 belong to those same Bruins, and Debrusk has played 36 games.

Their 2nd round pick, Brandon Carlo, has played 122 games.

Being a staunch hater of everything Boston, it warms my heart when anything doesn't go their way.

That is all.

I've been to countless Devils games and I never saw actual cheerleaders. Must've been a short-lived experiment.

They probably had to end it due to Brodeur almost getting the a sexual harrassment suit if the original report is correct

Huh, maybe I just pay attention to the hockey and not the in-arena "fun"
