Did anyone hear anymore on what’s up with JB issues being at home?

Does anyone care or are the knives out? How green is that grass?

It might be a polite way of Canucks keeping him away from the team. Usually the media would give more details if someone is ailing

No but I'd like to see this...

Nice looking line is that for Comets 2018 or Canucks 2019? Note you can clarify within or overlap of season.

You don't know if someone can definitively do a better job, that's impossible to tell. What you can do is say I "think" this person would perform better than Benning has. It's purely subjective.

Dean Lombardi has a better track record than Benning but he was fired because he signed some just God awful contracts that really hurt Los Angeles. At the end of the day he won two Cups as a GM there though.

I'm not personally suggesting Lombardi, I'm saying MAYBE ownership likes his body of work as he's an experienced GM and the architect of their two Cups. He was handed Kopitar and Quick though.

- LeftCoaster

Handed players? That should get Bowman & Rutherford fired soon. Neither of those 2 ever built anything. I hear you on subjective but it rarely applies to sports. If hockey was subjective GM’s would be fired much more often if result based. Coaches are sacrificed far too often over the ineptitude of a GM.

I’d say maybe 10 GM’s don’t deserve jobs before JB is cut loose. To fire a GM on a guess another can do a significantly better job is asking for constant upheaval like the Oil have faced. Not condusive for getting better having instability at the drop of a hat.

US Today's mid season ranking for Canucks:
- WhiteLie

Is that from Nuck4U's diary?
I'm surprised by the C- , expected a B.

Still no GM suggested who can do better?

When the likes of PC Dorion MB Treliving Wilson to name only a few have jobs idk what JB has to do. All of them have achieved nothing or simply abject failures far worse than JB.

- Nighthawk

I’m not going to say they are better but both Ken Holland and Lou Lamarallo (spelling) are in the same boat as JB. I would say they both have decent track records as GM’s.

If its track records gimme Sam Pollock.
What has Holland done lately?
Same for LL other than win Matthews?
Nothing worthy of much credit for me.

Pollock might be a little tuff cause I heard he’s a little under the weather.

Up until last yr, Holland made the playoffs 25 yrs in a row and won multiple cups.
LL help rebuild the Leafs and has a history of winning cups.

Like I said, not necessarily better then JB but are established winners.

Only 5 other GM's have won the cup since Holland's last; and 8 since Lou's last. Not to mention their involvement in their respective Olympic programs

Neither are really candidates, nor do I want either, but on a very short list of accomplished candidates, they are at least on it and more recently than 75% of the General Managers in the league; nothing to scoff at

Both of their contracts are up at the end of yr like JB’s. Not a far fetch from them being available.

Lol it never gets old. No labels let’s simplify.

Can you believe in accumulating picks, and building through the draft, without designing and executing a plan for team losses?

Comets release defenseman Cliff Watson . Probably nothing but could be making room for a trade prospect.

Of course, but to think teams don't take a step back by design is both naive and incorrect. Management teams lose by design all the time.

Depends, can you accumulate more picks without harming your team now or in the future?

Benning's done it. Burrows sucked and he traded him for Dahlen. Bieksa sucked and he traded him for a 2nd. Lack is not even a NHL goalie and JB got a pick for him. Hansen is a healthy scratch now and JB got a highly skilled boom or bust prospect for him.

Show some respect. My thoughts and prayers are with JB and I hope he's back soon.
