I think we will probably see Sanheim back in after the break. I doubt he gets sent to Lehigh because the Phantoms don't play until Friday. So there is really no point unless they plan on keeping him out of the lineup.
The organization now has a little clearer picture on Ghoul. He looks like he can be a solid 4th liner/PK guy in the NHL. Good speed, size, energy and looks like he can play a little bit.
Lindblom will be up soon. Weise, Leier, and Lehtera are seeing to that for him.
Still a bubble team. The sky is not falling. The kids aren't being destroyed by the organizational philosophy of overcooking prospects.
Everybody relax. Its not 2020 yet. - MBFlyerfan

The Flyers have played top teams in the league this season and beaten them such as St. Louis recently with Manning and MacDonald in the lineup. I think that at some point Sanheim is going to be a stud defenseman on this team and I agree with everyone that he needs to play. With that being said by far the worst defenseman on the team is Sanheim who is also the worst defender. It takes a lot more than skating to be a good NHL defenseman and Sanheim is not there yet. - MJL
There's so much wrong with this statement...where to begin. Our 5-6 Dmen aren't really the issue so I wont belabor their contributions to the Flyers recent wins, both played the way they always play. average.....everyone here knows what they are... First of all Sanheim is hardly the worst D man by far. Do you even watch or do you just study the metrics during the games? LOL. What he is, is a young D man that has growing pains like so many that have preceeded him in the past. He's going to have nights this year that land him in the press box and that's fine as long as he doesn't stay for very long or even finds his way back to LHV to get top minutes to help further his growth. But instead of arguing a point that will never end I will suggest that there has NEVER been a d man in the NHL that woke up one morning and was elite. He needs to play at the NHL level and play in situations that are beneficial to his strengths and weaknesses...Hagg has had some rough patches but to Hak's credit he has stuck with the kid and allowed him to work through these issues. He really should afford Sanheim the same considerations. This is why Hak is the coach. He sure as (frank) ain't still here for his stellar record. He is here to help develop the kids at the same time of trying to win games and some times the kids will sit. (konecny and Ghost last year)
In saying all this ...we do not know what has already been given to the kid...maybe he is getting that opportunity and continues to do things that are landing him in the press box. But there have been night were Sanheim has played very well, so we all know it's in there...like all young guys he needs to be more consistent. |

Sanheim has the worst PDO. That doesn’t make him the worst defender, and he has a huge amount of offensive upside that needs to be developed in game situations. Sitting out for half a month is not good for his development, and playing a plug like Manning on PP2 is not good for the team. |

Sanheim is the worst defender on the team no doubt. It's just a function of the player needing further development on his game. I agree totally that Sanheim needs to play. I also don't agree with Manning on the PP and I think Konecny has earned PP time with his recent play.

No, that's what all of the "experts" on here use to talk up players that the Flyers could pick in the upcoming draft, especially players that could 6th round "steals."
The only cure for Flyers withdrawal is Philadelphia Rebels hockey. REAL hockey. |

I can agree against the better teams, but yesterday and it was a back to back, 3 in 4 nights?
I watch every game, I guess I dont think Sanheims mistakes are much more than other D, though his end up in the net it seems

agree with you, goals for or against wont change much, luck has something to do with it, all make turnovers, ending up in the net is a matter of chance and luck.
why dont they sit Patrick? because he was a top pick is part of it. Again, at the very least Sanheim should have played yesterday or he shouldnt have been in the AHL

He was loaned to another team in the SHL and is apparently going to play quite a bit. He has been working to come back for some time now. A few other random sentences that don't translate from Swedish to English well. |

Patrick with some exceptions plays a solid game away from the puck and normally exercises good puck management. The Flyers also don't have a viable replacement for him at center unless they want to move Giroux back to center and I don't see that happening. The Flyers right now have 7 NHL defenseman and the 6 playing are currently better players than Sanheim is.
