lehner as a sabre

37-50-19
that 19 is a huge number for 106 decisions

.919 save %, decent
2.70 gaa

the save % and gaa has gone up each year, when we are suppose to be getting better each year

I think ROR is our new Miller

just because they play a lot, and makes a few great plays

it doesn't make them great

translation, over-hyped

- homiedclown

I'm definitely a Miller fan and an ROR fan, though I fear ROR's back is shot, Miller could be very good. He could also be grossly average. Hasek spoiled us rotten. We'd see Miller make a very good save and go "meh, Hasek would've done 'X'". He had huge shoes to fill and I think he did an admirable job. Miller certainly didn't hold the Sabres back. Outside of a small handful of goalies Hasek, Roy, Brodeur, Price, Lundqvist at his peak goalies are rarely the reason why a team succeeds. And people held that against Miller, still do, the fact that he wasn't Dom 2.0.

Yeah, that's not great. We'll see what it looks like at the end of the year. I just think it's funny how important narratives are to the NHL.

Price wins on pretty good teams and plays well, has a .920 and gets 10 mil a year. Don't get me wrong, I like Price a lot but to me, about 3 or 4 million in there is just narrative created by the media/fans

He lost .005% from the Minnesota game. One game knocked him from .916 to .911. One game!

Isn't Victoria pretty close to Vancouver? I'm not as up on my BC geography as I should be.

Probably closer to $2M. He's the real deal. It's not JUST about SV%. He's worth the PRICE, if that price is like $7M.

habs having a down year

yet you always feel the habs could win with price in net, no matter who they are playing

I have not felt that way about a goalie since hasek, roy and brodeur retired, until price matured

Yeah i agree. That's $3.5 mil less than his Coo Coo for cocoa puffs contract though. There was so much hype there but his stats, minus wins aren't that much better than goalies who are considered average

It's $10.5M? lol I thought it was *only* $10M.

But like Homie said. With Price in you always feel like they can win. Confidence is a huge part of it. Lalime wasn't a good goalie, but losing every game and eventually just calling up Enroth for spot starts? Nobody's that bad that had shown being capable. The team had zero confidence in Lalime so the tightened up and lost the edge and got killed mostly.

Funniest part of that is a starter is only going to play 75% of the games, so you still need a backup, and a decent one for those other 20+ games, so the team will end up having over 13 million tied up in goalies

Plus Price will be making that big $$ in the back half of his career, as opposed to his "Prime"

Stupid in so many ways

I started working during my junior year in high school. WI convinced my keyboarding teacher and English teacher to let me go to work instead of going to their class (my last two classes of the day). Both gave me B grades. So I right and reed goodly enough.

I started working as a junior as a cook at a Kentucky Fried Chicken Store. About 6 months later, One of my good friends, Terry Jacoby, got me a job as a substitute janitor at my high school. (He was a part time janitor). One day around 10:00 am we skipped school to hit the steelie run up on Lake Ontario. We lost track of time and fished all the way til 4:30. He got fired for an unexcused absence from work, and I got his job!

Who knew they'd keep such a tight leash on a part time janitor? It's all about being at the right places at the wrong times
