Just keep Toews off the ice for the final 20:00 and we've got a shot.

Saad having his best game in a while. Huge goal! I don't like the 12-8-88 combo, way too small.

Sure.

And can I mention every time Toews falls down on the ice?

I like Toews, but I'm not a Toews apologist. I think he's overpaid for what he will do during this contract, but his line is a big reason the Hawks are 2nd in CF%.

Hartman needs to be back on that line IMO, still don't get why he's sitting though you said he was injured apparently...

I like the Saad-Toews-Hinostroza line, if we get that 2nd line back together(38-8-88) the top 6 will be in great shape. And with DeBrincat, Sharp coming alive, the emergence of Kampf, and with Anisimov soon to return as well, not to mention Panik if he ever figures things out again....we should be able to put together a solid 3rd scoring line to go with our 4th line which has been one of the leagues best 4th lines all season.

When there is a causal link between CF% for and Ws let us all know.

Indicator stat at best.

They may have the highest CF% for in the history of the NHL while on the power play, but poopty for results.

3 guys caught in the neutral..and when a pass beats 3..ya got trouble...

seabs huff and puffing back and biffs the rebound to trailing knight...where is back support as you guys mentioned...no way the puck should find a knight

When your line is having to face the other team's top offensive players often it is a heck of a lot better to be on the right side of the CF% at 5v5. I don't think it is that much of an important indicator for the Powerplay.

They're 2nd 5 on 5, so I'm not sure what the power play has to do with anything, and I'm not Tanner, so I don't only look at stats. My point is that Toews isn't scoring a lot, but isn't playing poorly on offense. I am actually a lot more disappointed with his defense this year, despite his lack of points.

Illustrative metaphor.

You can have the puck all day, but dancing the puck around the perimeter yields nothing.

they come back from 2 down 2x to tie with some nice board and backchecking to give them chances...can they will themselves to get 2 points...

vegas might be feeling heavy legs in the 3rd...

what i fear is some ill advised pinch or a a couple of pens will hand this to the knights..

True, and not all attempts on net are created equal. The good thing for the Hawks is that their top line limits those chances in close.

This is like vintage Hawks when they used to mount comebacks on a regular basis.

Not trying to jinx it, but nice to see the guy who usually kills us sitting at a -4 tonight.

James Neal - 0 points - 1 shot and -4.

Yes he had the pass to the defense option and iced it instead. Lost a puck battle off the icing draw and it's all tied up.

After he took that cheap-shot. And again only 2 minutes? And notice how many times the Knights stick their legs out when they are beat.....
