To Winnipeg:

-Price
-Pacioretty
-Petry

To Montreal:

-Laine
-Trouba
-Hellebuck
-1st and 2nd pick 2018
-1st rd pick 2019

I think this makes Winnipeg a legitimate cup contender. Winnipeg would have to sacrifice Laine for a real shot at the cup. Then Montreal tanks to draft as high as possible.

My favorite part was that "Montreal tanks" after that trade, despite receiving a top-line goal scorer, a solid defenseman, and a pretty damn good goalie

If Price gets traded it would have to be out West. His wife is from Seattle area and his family are still out that way and he has a no trade.
So Vancouver and Calgary make sense and possibly Edmonton since he spends summers in Kelowna...but would Vancouver really want Price? They are on a rebuild.
They may offer something like...
Boeser, Pouliot, Markstrom, Dorsett and 2019 First Round Pick but that doesn't seem like enough for a guy like Price.
Calgary would have a better offer if they wanted Price.
Smith, Bennett, Hamilton but Calgary would ant someone else thrown in for that type of package.

The Islanders will offer Cal Clutterbuck and a conditional 1st round pick in 2021*

* The condition stipulates that the 1st round pick must be used exclusively during the third round of the draft

Settle down, guys. He has plenty of value. Just ask the GMs in Calgary and Philly how difficult it is to nail down a quality starting goalie

The contract is huge, but it's what he's worth. Dude won a Hart trophy a couple years ago, and was nominated for the Vezina last year. Get him out of the toxic waste dump that is Montreal and he'll win another very soon

He's single-handedly dragged a garbage Habs team into the playoffs on multiple occasions. That's true value, and people will pay for it, despite the price tag attached

Eklund is out to lunch with his proposals, sure, but that guy has never predicted anything accurately in his life. Price won't command multiple top-tier prospects, but the return will still be significant

- AxlRose91

This...

I'm not saying he has super high value, but to say he has no value is blatant stupidity or poor trolling attempts

Still better than the Sekera contract...or the fact that you finish last for 20 years and still can't put a team on the ice making the playoff

Don't know what league you're looking at but ~5mil is pretty commonplace for a guy that anchors a second pairing when he's not recovering from injury. Good for around ~30 points, solid to good possession metrics and 20-22 minutes per night of above average hockey. Bit of an overpayment, but that's UFA.

I get that you're confused by what constitutes a Dman that's worth his contract with all the overpayments on Montreal's backend, but keep it inside

You are significantly high.

Boeser - untouchable
Pouliot & MArkstrom - no value
and
Dorsett - Retired.

You could go:

Dipetro, 1st and Virtanen For Price, 3rd and 50% retention.

That guy is high.

But who knows, maybe we could trade Dorsets' contact to a team struggling to make the cap floor.

He takes many games off. When he is on though, it's great. That's what gave us fits in Boston. His contract was really high for someone who was so inconsistent.

The 30G thing was garbage too. 5 were ENs and if you couldn't score with Krejci in his prime and Horton or Krejci and Iginla( with some left in the tank) you suck and you should quit.

This same thing is what falsely legitimized Beleskey when he was on a line with Perry and Getzlaf...which Boston fell for again.

Not even close... Not even close. The Price contract is absolutely horrid... Sekera's isn't even bad.
