Normal person: Why not use a bottom six of more skilled players who can contribute at even strength and help take some of the scoring load off the top 6
Hockey person: NO! The 4th line must be made up of unskilled grunts who stand in front of shots being taken in practice! That type of character resonates throughout the entire team

But this Flyers team is bleeding goals while on the Penalty Kill so lets bring up the guy who does it on the Phantoms... Oh poop that's Ghoul... Ok call him up.
As for PK, I think Laughton, Raffl, Couturier and one of Simmonds or Giroux would be the four forwards if they go with two sets of two.
And this makes no sense. Why play Giroux and even Couturier on certain days on PK.
Same with Provorov. He is great and more so considering his age but he is overused
and makes now more errors then needed.Same goes with Giroux.
Flyere are inconsistent because the two Top lines playing to many minutes
Haks needs to improve in TOI management and sometimes also in matchups

It is as if secondary scoring issues and a 4th line designed to just skate around the ice for 8 minutes a game are directly proportional
This guy is going to make you beg for weise back. I like it cause I want fights if we’re gonna lose. But this really is a joke, he can’t play even a lick...feels like a weird dream.

Not sure if you're kidding but the PK has changed personnel-defenseman, forwards and goaltenders-multiple times over the past 3 years and still remains putrid. The problem there is not personnel

so simmonds to Phoenix, but he has a limited no trade clause.

Yeah I highly doubt anyone remotely defending this (or at least optimistic about it) has seen much of him playing

No one will ever have a rational rebuttal to this and, yet, we continue down this road.

Yeah, but the latter aren't really guys you want in that LW4 spot. I still think, if Lindblom recent run continues and if Weal doesn't pick up (goal on Tuesday aside), you could see Weal return to the scratch list, Weise to the 4th line and Lindblom tried with Filppula and Voracek; moving Raffl to the Patrick line. - bmeltzer
Besides a couple of games Filppula has been less than average. I really liked it when they got him, but he seems slow this season. He gets to the puck but he cant make a play to help.
They should really sit a vet that no one thinks they will sit.
